I dont really understand the love or hype of this game.
Other games don't have Myriam. And Cassius.
But jokes aside, I recall myself wondering why it had those reviews at start. Personally I believe the very begining of the game felt 'meh', almost experimental in game developing, with scenarios somewhat empty. But both quality in scenarios and writing grows quite a lot the more you play.
I don't even know if it is the first dev project, but definitely shows that. You can clearly see the growth the more you play. One of my favorite games around here, Once In A Lifetime, had the same issue. But that's actually a good thing, it shows commitment and effort from the dev to keep improving the game and please his fans.
If you only played for some minutes I somewhat understand your opinion, but I would recommend to give it a try for later stages in game. Even though, I understand that everyone has their favorite genres and the game may continue to not be your cup of tea. At least Myriam doesn't appear to like pineapple pizza(yet), it's always a good thing.
