Came across this on SubscribeStar about a week or so ago, and decided to give it a try. Wow, it's much better than I expected it to be, to be honest. Finished my first blind playthrough of it the other day and it was pretty fun. I did my best not to spoil myself; thus, I didn't know what types of situations or encounters the PC would find herself in.
So here's a few
first impression thoughts about the game that I had. Firstly, I have to commend the developer for making the game as readable as it is especially considering it isn't the in the dev's native language. Sure, there are some problems such as correctly applying past tense forms of verbs in the text, and some confusion of the correct words to be used such as "where" versus "were" which appeared quite often. Nonetheless, the structure of the sentences were sound and the ideas they tried to convey were clear. Gotta give the dev some props here; well done on that front!
Unfortunately, some choices that appeared were incredibly ambiguous. Often times in these situations, the choices presented didn't seem different from any other and I was left wondering what the developer's
intentions were behind the choices instead. I had a hard time at some instances what choice would determine a certain type of expected outcome or consequence. Since I was playing blind and also chose to never do any type of rollback while playing the game, I found myself at times walking away with a completely different set of outcomes, or in the worst cases, the opposite of what I expected to happen. It is what it is.
On the other hand, the developer did a superb job bringing out the personalities of many of the characters in the game. For instance, fuck Anthony. I hated that guy with a passion. The dev really went all out about how much of gawddamn prick he really is, lol! In contrast, Myriam's daughter is such a dear! What a sweetheart to be such a loving and supportive daughter! Also, I'm glad the dev tried to buck some norms (that I hate seeing) here and there for the large cast in the game -- such as the badass redhead, Lucy, with a heart of gold; or Bobo the Bum who wasn't straddled with the evil bastard stereotype for folks down on their luck. Thanks for actually putting some
character into characters,
Zorlun.
For all intents and purposes, does the Trust stat represent how naive Myriam is? It just seemed odd. The two or three choices that I saw based on it made it seem like it anyway.
Also, I really dug this (inappropriate) riding outfit that Myriam can wear in chapter two, no lie. (See image spoiler below.)
Anyway, it's a fun game! Thanks
Zorlun! Hope more people will try it. Looking forward to see where this game will go next! Cheers and have fun y'all!
