Don't worry, Zorlun. You are creating the raunchiest and best AVN there is. A slight hiccup is nothing after steadily delivering great updates every single month.
Hey man atleast your open and honest with us, it would be so easy to hide and hibernate and go radio silent like a lot of devs do when they have issues or when they want to milk.
But that’s not you, you’ve never milked your fans and you always deliver quality monthly or every other month updates.
don’t stress, we believe you will finish Myriam and of course we’ll miss her but we’ll wait until you get your hardware fixed
As I said in an earlier post, You make it easy to support and give patience to. Your personality and behavior with the fans, paying or not, has been Exemplary. I've had a pc die before when I first started working on my manuscript. It's frustrating, I know. The best way to fight the anxiety that comes from inactivity is to work on your scripts, maybe come up with a few more ideas and work them toward your big endings and/or the next update. Stay strong and the rest of us will be patient.
Thank you all for the support, I can't thank you all enough for the patience and love the game and Myriam keep receiving from you all, I can not wait to get back to work. ^^
I'm still waiting for news from the data recovery lab (I'll probably won't have any before Tuesday), meanwhile I have ordered some new hardware to prepare my set up and went over what I have in hands and would have to do if worst come and no data are recoverable, starting by the data log of missing resources when loading a save of the last scene I was working on, DAZ is nice enough to point me to all the resources missing, listing me every resources and letting me going over everything the save is asking me, I have found each one of them, meaning that even if the worst come, Myriam is not dead.
I also made the round of the different software I was using and went for the upgrades, preparing everything to be installed again when my hardware arrive (probably Tuesday too), I have a little hiccup with DAZ giving me a 'PostgreSQL CMS' error message at start, but it's more a practical problem than anything else, it doesn't stop me from working (though I didn't try rendering yet with the poor cooling system, I'll wait for all the hardware to be here and installed before trying rendering again).
I upgraded my Ren'Py set up as well, as I was using Atom to work, I'll take the occasion to jump on Virtual Studio Code instead (if it's problematic, I can always come back to the antic Atom). For the writing, my last fabric is from ch5.10, but I can salvage the writing from ch5.11 game file itself as I do not encrypt it, my only loss if my data are not salvaged, is all the writing I did this month for the future ch5.12 update (it would be annoying, but if it's all that loss, this is really not much, thank god for all my backups).
And to finish, I've scoured the internet to find the best way to protect and backup fully my future set up, and will be using Backblaze to do regular backup of my computer and will use their Backblaze B2 cloud to to back up in real time my work station, it won't be the cheapest, but they look practical and they've been around for forever, so that's kind of reassuring.
Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to keep you posted on the last news, I'll make a new official Patreon and SubscribeStar post when my hardware arrives and I get news from the lab. Thank you all again for all the love and support, all I can say in the end is that I will try my best to stay worthy of it.
If your PC really has no cooling system right now, please leave it Off. It will do more harm then good as it might shut down in the middle of you doing something and corrupt even more Data.
Wish you all the best and thank you so much for your Determination.
You are a great Guy and one of the most reliant devs on this Forum.
Cheers to you!
Yes, as I've written, just up, I've ordered some new hardware, 1 more SSD just dedicated to all the work software, 2 new 4To HDD NAS grade, one just for the resources and one for all my crap, and finally one new cooling beast with 3 fans to ventilate everything, the 2 fans I had previously did its best, but was at first made to support my 3080, I think the 4090 pushed him to its limit. ^^
So to avoid making anything worse before everything arrives, I won't try rendering, I want to, but I don't want to make things worse and trip even before being able to start again working.
To distract You from PC problems, when You finish working on Myriam, what game will be next (If You not yet tired of crowd of perverted degenerates following You.)
What You think of fantasy or sci-fi setting? Game about Myriam's distant ancestor or descendant?
Since this game is so great, We all will wait for Your next project.
P.S. (Just two requests: MILF protagonist and lots of animal friends.)
Well, this last few days (post bad news), has written in the post have been dedicated to going over my backups and setting myself ready to start working again, even if the worse happen and I can't get my data saved, and I'm really really really reassured to see that even if everything is dead, I should be able to (I say should for now, because even if I rounded up everything, I still haven't tested, I'm still waiting for the hardware).
But I'm trying my best to relax, which a bit easier after having done all this.
I think mentioned somewhere that it likely would be a male MC, which I personally think is a bummer but understandable from a business point of view.
But let's first enjoy how Myriams Story will come to an end.
I have multiple main ideas, and one would be with a male MC, though it would be in duo with a female MC, but I don't want to jinx anything for now, saving and finishing Project Myriam is the more important thing right now, and my focus.
I unpack it into the game folder, but it doesn't work. Can anyone help?
Sorry, I can't help mush with the mods, I hope someone will be able to help you (the modders often come around to help, so just be patient and you should get all the help you need ^^ ).
