VN Ren'Py Project Myriam - Life and Explorations [Ch. 5.12+p] [Zorlun]

Project Myriam is one of my favorite games, and Myriam is one of my favorite characters among all the characters in all the many games I play. I have 26 different play-throughs of this game which I track on an Excel spreadsheet. I do so because there are so many different choices and paths she can take. This usually results in interesting different scenarios that play out in each update. Of all the updates in all the time I have played this game this is the first update to disappoint. No matter the path, no matter the choices, she still is in the same scenes with the same decisions to make and only subtle differences based on her choices in those scenes. I'm sure this one was easier for the dev to write, but it was rather disappointing from a player perspective. Hopefully the next one will be up to the usual standard.

You should not try using the existing mod, it won't work, as it's not up to date with the last version of the game.
Wait for it to be updated.

I can understand, but not every scene can go in multiple branching with multiple choices, as with updates heavy on naughty need to be paced with calmer ones, more complicated scenes need some breathing as well. Here you had the first 2 scenes that advanced the main plot line and character, which is far less subject to having a lot of differences (still had some though), and for the last scene even if it was fairly simple it actually had multiple way to go dependent on choices (though yes more actual ones than older ones).
But yes, this update was made to refocus on the main plot line after a series of updates branching out.

What do you consider the main plotline? Is it her coming to grips with her own life and determining her future direction, or is it something else?

Yes, Myriam and her "struggle" is main plot line in my mind, it's what giving a rhythm to the chapters, after that you could count what's happening with her family in coming second.

I was thinking that Myriam's dream about her dead husband touched for the first time on her relationship with him which seemed at least partially to be a healthier relationship than the one she had with Marc's dad. A little more reflection on that relationship might serve well in her search to determine her desired path. She should probably discuss that with her therapist. That's my perspective.
