I made my own mod, and I don't mind using the console to adjust them. It takes me a second. SHIFT+O for console mode, the MCkink["Cum"]=-200 to set it. The console mode remembers anything I typed, even between games, so if I want to change the same variable I changed previously, I go to console mode and press the up arrow to bring it back up and adjust it.

Perfectly legitimate, each of us uses their time and energy as they see fit. Also the tip about how to eliminate the small menu can be of interest for people, so it is good you gave it.
I basically never use that small menu, since I use URM to monitor the variables that I need to check and change and to do a quick check of path I have not chosen in the main game without creating n saves while debugging the patch, but I just leave it minimised.
Plus, I prefer to keep the changes I do and "distribute" for the patch as restricted as possible in terms of files, to better ensure compatibility, and this is a modification of the game interface, something that should not be forced on people just for using an incest patch - but again, the fact I don't use it does not mean someone else may not find it useful.

That's why I made my own mod. It doesn't alter ANY game files. It works outside of the game. There's only ONE setting my mod makes which I have notes in that file about, and that is enabling developer mode MAY cause problems with some games that have other mods, as mods for games often repeat certain variables, which is an error, but with developer mode off, you won't have a problem, with it on, you will be told about it. But that's easy, I load up my mod file, console.rpy and change developer mode to False. Console mode is always enabled and I never had an issue with that. None of my code changes anything in the game. I have code which displays the current filename being executed and the line number the game is on, I have two monitor on my computer, so I will often have that file on my right monitor and can jump to any line I wish to check it out (like in menu choices, I can see which variables are effected).

My way is certainly not for everyone, but I have programmed computers for decades now and am comfortable this way.

I'll attach what I have so far. As I said, it's not detailed, I mainly created it for my own purposes. It has multiple files which can be deleted if not needed as they do not rely on each other. I have comments in each file explaining what they do as well as a text file in this zip explaining what each file is, some notes on what it does and how to use it if anyone's curious.

Honestly, I don't think so for now, or at least it's not in my mind when I think on all the different ideas I would like to go on for the next game.
Though I did think on some close to it themes, like monsters or fantastical creatures (and for those already screaming "No!" in their head, it would be optional and not the main thing of the game), as it would be both less problematic for a lot of platforms and more interesting for me narratively.

So all in all, nothing set in stone yet, but don't get your hopes up.
Have you thought about making an in universe "sequel". I use that term vaguely, I understand the importance of spreading out creatively and not being chained to one thing. What I am wondering is if your next game will gently be connected to your current, with either some background character as the main focus or some of our more prominent characters in this game are side characters for the next.

I know whatever you choose to make I will definitely be here to follow and enjoy what you create

No, I didn't plan any connections for now, though I'm not really against it as I enjoy little winks and easter eggs.

Though I do have planed to use my MCs for little cameo's in future games (so in the case Myriam), but as another character, as if they were actors playing another roles.

If I am not wrong, Zorlun mentioned before that it will have a Fantasy setting with monster characters and I would guess magic as well. While in PM there sure have been some fantastic elements I don't think both worlds will fit together too well.

Oh, and on a side note, I fixed a bug in the code which causes a fatal exception when you look at affections (at least with the current download on here). I'll attach my fix (notification.rpy), just replace your old one with it. OR, if you want to do it manually yourself, just load up notification.rpy (in the game folder), and go to line 212 and replace it with: $number_col = int(len(discoveries["Characters"])/length_col)
Basically, I added in int() to convert his division to an integer.
If anyone was wondering: This works really well.

The 'traits' evolve both with what she do/happen to her and what she think, not just with choices, I wanted the evolution of the 'traits' to feel not as just choices from the player, but as the character itself evolving and changing.
Though the thing is that Myriam was written to enjoy cum, the 'trait' was mostly here for players that want some extra more, changing it down manually will not erase it for the game as the game was never written to make it disappear from the start, sorry.

About the 'cum' kink, nothing much to say beside it won't go away for sure, at least not for Project Myriam, two of the biggest kinks that frustrated me in games I played before was the lack of 'anal' and the 'one second small cumshots' that disappeared on the next render, and instead of pestering the devs I chose to try myself at making one (this is not a shot at anyone here, but just a comment on my thought process at the moment I started Project Myriam).
So definitely, the over saturation of cumshots and anal is definitely due to my enjoyment of it, and it's totally fair if you prefer to stop the game if you don't enjoy it, there is no reason for anybody to force themselves playing a game with things they don't like.

I hope you can find the perfect game for you out there (there's a lot of them after all), our even try yourself to make your own like I did, meanwhile I thank you for all the time you gave Project Myriam. ^^
The thing is, I DO enjoy the game... I love the story. I will probably continue to play it, I just end up tapping the space bar REALLY FAST to blow past excessive cum shots. Anal doesn't bother me (in the game, LOL).

I do hope that in future games, as much as YOU may enjoy certain things, if you're going to give the player choices of what THEY like, you really should factor in what the player likes and dislikes. Having points for Anal, Cum Kink and all the rest, is utterly pointless (pun intended) if you're going to totally ignore what the player wants and force it on them anyhow.

You might want to not bother with allowing choices at all, and just create a kinetic novel with no choices involved, just the story you want to tell.

Dear Zorlun,

Please ignore the quoted self-entitled opinionated poster. Your game is great, the choices provide the perspective of a custom narrative, and the branching paths improve replayability. The above poster is screaming from the minority (given the positive reviews of this game and fervent enthusiasm for each release). Maybe one day the poster might follow your lead and create a game of their own instead of dictating to others how they should work.

Sincerely,
a Myriam fan

It's simple logic. If you give the player a CHOICE, you know, to "make Myriam your own" as he states you can, and then totally ignores what the player chooses... than there is a problem.

I do like the story, it's nicely done. I just ask that when I dislike something, he should take that into account, as he said he would, otherwise, take the choices out if he plans on having them in anyhow. I can respect that. If there's a "cum kink" with points I can avoid because that isn't my thing, than why do I still see it? Remove the option for it so I know what's cumming.

I have developed games as far back as the 1990s, and one specifically was downloaded millions of times worldwide. I won't say what as I don't wish my identity known, and I don't expect you to believe me. I'm giving constructive criticism on how these things should be done in any game. Don't give the player a choice to avoid something, and then ignore their choices.

As for visual novels, I have been working on one, but more for my own reasons, to continue to learn etc.. I don't know that I will ever release it to the public (well, it was leaked once) on here.

Respectfully, sir, that is a "nice" sentiment, that every game developer should take everybody's tastes and opinions into account.
I can certainly applaud that. To a degree.
Games, as you know, have plot devices and constructs that remain integral to the story being told. No matter how wide the scope of that story becomes, there are always going to be some things that are "central". "unchangeable" and necessary in the telling.
This will undoubtedly mean that someone will come across some part of the story they wish they never encountered.
It is a cross we all bear, when we are not in total control of all the outcomes, only able to make choices within that scope.
Ultimately we all make that choice, to either ignore or abandon, or accept.
You, sir, are apparently alone in that statistical anomaly at the moment. And, timing wise, it is unfortunate that you have raised the issue as the game is ending in the very near future. Way too late for consideration of a complete rewrite of a basic tenet of the game.
Good luck in your decision mate...
