I just guessed it could be 2 months,seeing the release date was april last year and we have v. 0.12 now.2-3~ month

Actually is quite cozy easygoing romance game. I love how two main LI fight. That makes them look alive. Also MC is not terrible, he just need more personality. He could be a little bit smarted and sharper around the edges.
Main concern come from the fact that half of females look super generic. Like they are placeholders for something better. It really ruins the whole picture.

i tend to agree with you
... but with the story turn of events in this update has me scratching my head wondering where this dev has the game going at this point ... it seemed like an awesome harem game starting out .... now tho .... i'm starting to think some damn NTR is gonna be sneaking in here .. if that happens ... i'll say good luck with this game i'm done .... which i'll be sad i've lost another awesome game

i'm going to say once ,you really liked it before that,then a few months later it got abandoned for unknown reasons and you pinned it on NTR.
but for real,having a few optional NTR scene will not ruin a VN,the key being optional!!!

that statement is very much a factual one " NTR = abandoned"
i won't say that there was never a VN that got "ruined" after adding NTR,losing its fanbase making the dev give up because off losing that,i bet that such VN wasn't all that good to begin with and had more issue's then a NTR scene(optional or not)
but there are plenty VN's that have NTR(optional or not) that have their own fans etc. and do fine..

yeah i understand what you're saying,its just how you wrote it that ticked me off...i never said there wasn't
its more about NTR being "the final straw" or "last nail in the coffin" but there were probably a lot more underlying reasons why it gets abandoned in the end.
but a dev saying "no NTR ever" then adding it later does make users lose trust/respect for the dev,and naturally all the no NTR people won't trust the dev that it stays optional if that how it was done at all would no longer like the VN.

It's a shame that there are games where this tag is due to some nonsense, or there is no NTR in the game at all... well, or there are two paths in the game: NTR and normal
????
There is also sometimes the case where NTR isn't tagged but it appears in game. Hence it escaping the blacklisted tags, and an unsuspecting player would be in for a surprise

but that is to way to solve the issue you wrote down..
and yes the optional NTR is included into that,so you do have to double check that then,but it being a frequently asked thing so the answer is usually already in the thread if not the OP that it is or isn't optional.Let's be honest, if there was no NTR at all, it would be easier to search for avn... but you have to check it 10 times to understand

i think the surprise ntr in a game without it(even when optional) comes down to a situation like where a wife says"if you loved me you would fight for me" and everyone else is thinking, if you loved your man, you wouldnt make him so why would he bother sticking around.
romance or harem whatever, once a player wins the LI, the moment she shows that she can be stolen, she is no longer worth having. guys who want to see their women taken wouldnt fight just to be able to watch, and guys that wont share wont bother keeping her.
so those expecting the LIs to be loyal and true without question, will never be okay when the vn suddenly puts it into question. romance and harem games are expected to be without that anxiety.
for those who have never followed harem stories, the MC when confronting a possible LI that has been in tumultous relationships or leaving one(like when he is stealing her or rescuing her from a villain)
1. the MC always makes two things clear, he says once they are together she can never be with another man or thats the end.
2. the MC asks the LI if she is okay with his harem and makes it clear their is no room for jealous and fighting in it
clear rules of what the MC expects, the LIs taken in agree to them or never join. hell often if MC is a cultivator and can make clones, his clones cant bang his harem, the clones have to make a seperate harem, or just level up alchemy for a thousand years in pocket dimension or something instead.
i think there are clear expectations in genres. and when a dev says there will be none of this or that, even teasing to it later is a hard pass for many people.

For me it's simple. If a developer promise a game will have no NTR in it, and let him/herself intimidate by the NTR mob to add "optional" NTR to it, then that is the moment I drop a VN like a hot potato.

That's not usually how it goes. It's usually more one of the two that the MC actively abandons, neglects or betrays his LI, or he fails to protect her and she gets assaulted and corrupted. The second is the most common one since NTR B is more popular for netorare. Either way it's not usually framed as the LI betraying the MC but the MC betraying or failing to protect the LI. At least in avoidable media.
Either way though, for the people getting quite frankly paranoid that they're gonna get surprise NTRd with how many times the dev's said there's no NTR why worry about it so much? Worry about it if it happens, no point in obsessing over something that there's actually no reason to expect. The "NTR bait" as some people call it is literally just basic conflict that pretty much any non-gooner media would never have any problem with having.
