the dev should have use their past asset to test their desired gameplay instead of starting everything from 0
...Let alone them, every gamedev did not even need "past assets" if they already have non-animated "placeholders".
I don't think this game's development is held back by lack of assets. They have just as much assets as they need to test the mechanics, so I assume they find developing assets easy enough.

[v0.5.0.0 Update Contents]
1. Existing characteristics have been changed to be treated as additional stats. Each race has additional stats that are applied in addition to their base stats.
2. Added new characteristics
3. Changed the way stats are inherited during breeding
4. Added pillory
5. Fixed an issue where Monmus children would appear as sisters, so that only regular slaves will appear from now on. (The appearance of sisters was a bug. We apologize.)
6. Added actions related to infamy

Currently, we are conducting various tests for content related to notoriety, so the specifications may change frequently. Please be aware of this.

Yeah, this exactly. They develop art assets pretty quickly so I would say their primary concern is getting things implemented and tested first. They are more or less designing their game from the ground up, and have some very complex behaviours like the infamy meter and all the various breeding traits which probably generate a fuckton of bugs.

I've no doubt in my mind that they'll get this finished though, this is a group of developers not one dude who may or may not start spouting out Canned Dev Excuses one day. It'll just take a long time for them to get shit presentable to the public, especially if this ends up being more ambitious than the previous title.

Monmusu Children being sisters was the easiest 'bug' to fix. Something tells me they were testing stuff/being indecisive and forgot to update the plaintext.

Edit: For the sake of not double posting, looks like they did take the idea for additional statuses (not the traits) to be in a range of the two parents maximum with a small chance to go above. Will need to check the code base for more information, but breeding is now going to be a lot longer of a chain if you want an uber unit.

The infamy/notoriety system on the side is a nice way to chuck less useful slaves or just boost infamy in general.

Only did a few raids (I don't have the time right now for in depth), but the changes seem nice for now.

Shortstacks seem very worth three cost if their base strength is 15 vs 5.
