This update wasn't as dark as I was expecting from his posts about it. It wasn't bust your gut hilarious but that's fine because the focus was on the the main story with the Deep ones. Also ...
Hard to just pick one part so I'll list out the parts I liked the most.
* The fight scene is definitely first. I always enjoy the cutscenes in this game and this one was top-notch.
* Lord Theodore Augustus Fitzwilliam-Cavendish III is always a gem.
* Walking with Emily in that field and reciprocating her feelings for us.
My favorite sequence was getting to chat with Lord Theodore Augustus Fitzwilliam-Cavendish III. Also, could you please tell me the name of the song during the Ashe/Em/MC scene? Thanks, and congrats on another great update!
More seriously, like I said it's a solid episode. The best of season 2 in par with EP9. Starting with a very impressive action sequence. The camera angles, animations quality and fluidity are very impressive for the genre. Not to mention the soundtrack.
The episode is like promised more tense and serious than the previous ones and that's the good thing. Because the game doesn't only shine thanks to the humor but also through a solid work on the characters. The focus on characters respective inner conflicts is perfectly executed
With everything we learned this episode, most notably the overarching antagonists, the stakes keep climbing. Sure,a lot of things are fully inspired by Mass Effetc.
but the game has become way more ambitious, more deep. The team really feels like a team, even when a character isn't one of the main focus he never feels left out. It's now way easier to get invested in their mission and the emotional attachment keeps growing.
Damn, that fight animation was extremely impressive. Way more impressive than Zoey running like Harry Mason from Silent Hill 1, a game released 25 years ago, or from certain devs who were very proud of a... toaster animation.
Ashe going 'pew pew' and Aria dying a bit more inside watching Fandrel die right in front of her. Karma is a right bitch and it got a two-for-one deal on that one.
But also, Sandra's use of synonyms would have made me spit out my drink, had I been drinking at the time. 100% caught me off guard.
I've been waiting to take a massive shit on her from a great height since the start of the game.
I know she probably going to get a redemption ark at some point but i'm not sure she deserves one. At the end of the day while she may not be the figurehead she IS the one that controls the company.
They have ruined far too many lives for far too long and she was a big part of it.
Yeah usually the compressor members do update only patches (and compressions) when games have higher than 3GB size but we have to request it somewhere (not really sure what thread we request it), lets try call Bob69 (last update only was made by them) maybe they are already on it, the update isn't here for long after all. I'm DLing the full version anyway, almost done.
Edit : Oops sorry Bob69, I guess SonsOfLiberty was who made the compression this time for v0.13, maybe they are on the update only since it usually take longer than the compressed version.

I woke up to my biggest number of notifications yet. I can't reply to all of these comments but I'm really enjoying reading all of it. I'm especially delighted to see the fight scene getting so much praise, makes the hard work worth it

Me too. The dramatically charged scene of Aria falling to her knees over the dead body of her only friend was great. But i fear where this could send Gunslinger and his whole team, they could end up as another the end justify the means group just like Solarin, specially Ashe who was having a conscience crisis.
And i agree, i hope there is a choice to not do any redemption arc for her. She is responsible for every crime Solarin commited as the de facto owner of the company. Aria watched him execute a woman while she stood by.
I may end up making my Gunslinger promise he will be coming for her just for Ashe's mental health sake. Besides even if the scene is not that dramatic, Aria will still return to a empty base with no friendly shoulder to hold her while she drinks away the realization she is one of the bad guys.
