Yeah, I'm still not dead and I'm still making my game xd. Just working, learning how to draw, etc. It's all been time consuming, which is the reason why I'm not as active here... On ci-en I've been making posts rarely, I don't get to make the time. Just quietly developing my game. Anyway, I don't get any money from it, but I try to achieve really high quality and I do everything for that. I hope people appreciate it and will be understanding and patient. I am not a big company and during development I was a programmer but not an artist. So I have to learn how to draw from scratch. And after a while you can already notice my progress.

Impressive progress!

Regarding the poll, for full/major scenes I'd say more proper CG/HD art is definitely "better" than high res pixel art. However, seeing the above post, I doubt it's going to be hurting much from sticking to a unified pixel art theme. I'd say, stick with what you're most comfortable with right now at the end of the day. If you need to polish up drawing skills a bunch more to get to the higher def CGs, then probably not worth it unless that is a skill you're enjoying working on right now and want to keep focusing on developing. Otherwise, I'd wager you'd feel more 'rewarded' by seeing your game make progress and take shape.

I'm thinking. That I myself enjoy working with pixels. Especially when it comes to locations. In that drawing it was still a work in progress, I hadn't finished the legs and the shadow cast on the bench. But here's the full background of the scene. And I really like to do these backgrounds in pixels. Of course in animated scenes everything will be easier than in static ones. But anyway. For me, the most important thing is scene ideas, gameplay design, how the game feels, etc. So, the method of drawing is not so important, but I found the pixels to be aesthetically pleasing.

About the skill, I think I have enough, I am still hard to call a good artist and the result is not always predictable to me, but I think small mistakes can be forgiven and there will be content from me. In any case during the work, my experience will grow and the number of mistakes will decrease

Sounds like a good case to focus wholly on the pixel art and not worry about changing it up for larger scenes. And I gotta say I'm impressed with the level of detail you're pulling out of pixel art.

Jesus I went from page one of this thread to present and the improvement of your art is massive. Impressive!

It's taking me a while, I don't know how to draw fast yet.
In my limited understanding of art, the secret to drawing fast is drawing sloppy. Maybe you still feel slow by art timeline standards but I'm sure that's something that the only real solution to is spending lots and lots more time drawing.

What do you think? Is this a good enough level for the game?
Good enough level for the game? Absolutely. Honestly some fairly high quality pixel art imo.
If you want nitpicking of that pic/scene in particular then the bench looks like it's made for giants compared to the girl. Even assuming she's on the petite side, that looks like a bed of a 3-person bench. Back probably should end more around her shoulders and current perspective looks like it's reaching up to her ears when seated on it. But also, perspective drawing was what made me want to drop my art elective way back in grade school. So. Don't blame you if that sounds like way too much work to even think about trying to figure out how to fix. But that's more nitpicking than anything and something that stands out much more in a still image like this apart from the game. Of course, you can also "fix" some "mistakes" by leaning into them in universe. Like with that bench just have some throw away dialogue commenting on how it's oversized. Whether it was a gag donation to the park or part of some other characters ego/attempts to compensate elsewhere. Basically, turns it from a "this looks somewhat off" thing to a "this is supposed to look somewhat off". Catch in doing something like this is now if that bench appears on a map it should still probably look bigger than it otherwise should.

I'm thinking. I'll just ignore the fact that the bench is big. I think some people might not even notice it, and if they do, it's no big deal. Redrawing everything would be a waste of time.

Anyway. I try really hard to make the graphics look nice. But another thing I try to achieve is that I try to make a game that looks like a game. Most hentai games disappoint me personally. And while my first games are obviously not going to take the gold, these will be my first steps in making a dream hentai game

Truthfully because of my job I can't devote as much time to my games as I would like. But maybe one day I'll be able to make money from them and have more time to develop them, by the way. Lately all new hentai games are disappointing me more and more, so I would like to realize many of my ideas.

So I'm done with this scene. As you can see. It's taking me a while, I don't know how to draw fast yet. Also the scenes have a huge amount of mistakes. But overall I think it's not bad. What do you think? Is this a good enough level for the game?

This art is better than 90% of the games I see on here. You're doing great!

Don't pay attention to her face. I had originally planned that with a level of perversion. Her face would look like she was teasing, but it ended up being autistic. But it's even funnier, so I decided to keep it that way.

I have a fetish for autistic faces, thank you.

When I was a beginning animator something that we were taught was to draw from life. So, we sat in parks, at cafes, etc and just drew people in action. It helps with speed and catching 'the action'.

As for hands/feet look into anatomy texts for understanding on how they move. Start with the bones then build up. Palms + fingers should be about 3/4s of the length of the head, when standing straight fingertips should be about mid thigh and fingers are about the length of the palm. Feet total length is about 1/2 the length of the shin.

You've improved quite a bit, keep it up.

Hello everyone, this time the post will be very uninformative, lately I've been working on the game quite a bit. There are many reasons for this, a lot happened in my life, as well as in Russia, it all quite depressed me and frankly interfered with the development of the game, in the end I decided to stop developing the game for a while and distract myself with something else. And I decided to try to learn 3D modeling, quietly and peacefully I studied all the things like topology and object structure. I really enjoyed it and really had a lot of fun, 3d was much easier for me than 2d, probably because I have more of an engineering brain than a creative one. Besides that I already knew a huge amount of stuff, like materials, because once I spent a lot of time learning shaders, math, 3d lighting, projection, matrix, etc. And spending a lot of time in 3D, rotating models, studying objects, etc. I noticed that my level of drawing increased with it, because I became much better at visualizing objects in my head while I was drawing. Also in 3D I get a lot of things to do intuitively, properly lead the topology of polygons, shapes and so on.

As a result, after taking a rest, I finally feel that I can go back to game development. However, I think I'm going to make it faster and simplify some aspects, like the story. I'm not a very good writer, of course I will try to make dialog, scenes and events interesting. However, they will still have problems because of my small amount of experience, because I can't do everything, although I have some writer friends, maybe I will ask them to edit the text.

Also, studying 3D gave me an idea. I can leave the exhibitionist scenes and plot events as they are, however, what if I use pixelated 3d for the streaming scenes? In streamming gameplay is a system of nodes, this could play well on the number of unique scenes and customization, however, it would take time to get the shader to handle a vagina for example well, in general I would have to look at whether to make it pixelated 3d, or just 3D with an anime shader. Or as originally planned, do pixelated 2d animations, however in the case of 2D, I won't be able to do very many scenes and variety.

What do you think, is it worth a try? There's nothing wrong with giving it a try anyway, after all I don't even need to make a perfect game, especially since I haven't even released one yet on my not-so-short road to getting there

I also don't know what to do about monetization, because as a Russian I can't monetize it, but maybe after developing it I'll find a way to monetize it somehow and eventually leave Russia to put the game on steam, the main thing is that by that time the Russian government won't completely cut itself off from the internet, lately the Russian government has been blocking a lot of services, even the most innocuous ones, now absolutely every user in Russia uses VPNs (And VPN ads are banned too, lol), but now rumors are starting to circulate that the plan is going to be a new one. I hope this will not happen, because in this case even VPN will not help.
