That just makes it worse actually.

12 people making less progress with their game than the solo dev of Night of Revenge who also put out 1 - 2 anims a month + bugfixes, new systems and areas all with a variable salary based on the game sales and is currently in the process of preparing the release version.
At the same time there, ya on paper it looks worse, but in reality more people does not always equal more work getting done. If you have multiple people working on code, then they bring up issues with conflicting code which brings bugs and builds being delayed solving those issues. Different animators do things different which means more time sorting out those conflicting issues. The art in the game honestly is quite nice which means trying to pump out that art can't be too easy.

I am not completing defending them, I agree with almost everything people say and how long it is taking the development of the game. People just need to realize that game development isn't as cut and dry as they think it should be. With more people comes more complications.

And that is why in software development alot of companies adopted agile project management methods such as SCRUM.
A team of 12 is not big enough to cause problems. there simply is no excuse.
There are actually quite a lot of excuses that I could come up with why the development is taking so long, inexperience being at the forefront of that argument. There are people that I know that have been in the development industry for 10+ years and still are learning and experiencing new issues everyday.

Just because there are project management methods out there doesn't mean they are using one (should be). 12 people may not seem "big enough" to you but as soon as you add one more person to any development cycle, there will be new complications arising (personal experience).

Again I will state, I am not entirely defending the developer and I am just as frustrated as the rest of you. There are quite a lot of things that the developers should have done different. And honestly they should be learning from the feedback, but sadly I do not believe that they listen to any of it.

I will leave you with this, you can freely have your opinion of this whole situation and choose to believe whatever you believe. As I hope you will with me and anyone that has quoted me. Have a great day!

Scope creep and not staying focussed would be my comment on slow development, and here are some examples;

- Aug 19 Change Clothing for Onyx (never implemented)
- Oct 19 3D conversion, and anyone seen the biohound in the game!?
- Nov 19 - Let's intorduce (or not) some guns
- Feb 20 - Biomonster, implemented nah......
- July 20 - Femcop and Police boss, well one success there
- Sep 19 - Really the year of concept enemies
- Feb 21 - Sewer boss concept, tentacles everywhere. When....
- Jan 21 - More concept enemies, one is even ready for animation (not out a year later)

Remember Onyx started with this post in Sept 18 which said;
" The goal is to take part of the team and get a very fun and accessible side project built in Unity with a much smaller scope than MATM to you and to retailers ASAP" The smaller scope didn't last for long
"The game will contain approximately 5 full, varied levels, and if the reception is good we will consider expanding it in a variety of ways". We are still waiting for level 1 four years later
" The goal is to use a style that has less back-end overhead and doesn’t require additional complex 3D models for characters " Guess what they changed there minds and went 3D
"AltairPL will continue his work on MATM’s URGE engine full time, and TK will continue his work on the Maya transition for MATM. I’ll obviously still be working on MATM as well, as will Ubercharge"
Altair slunk back and started working on the RPG system, another complication really. MATM sunk without a trace.

to be fair its slightly better than their prior pace which was... well.. one update per 3 years?

The game is being funded by patreon.
Yes, but it seems like they're slowly moving to SubscribeStar anyway, so the possibility is there. Also, how would you explain a dog enemy with testicles? Why add balls if not for sexual purpose in a porn game like this? I don't think they would do it for "anatomical correctness", that would be ridiculous...
After all, when talking about SubscribeStar, they literally said, quote: "The content is a mirror of our Patreon campaign, and pledging will help bring us closer to creating WITHOUT CONTENT RESTRICTIONS".
So I'm not saying that there will be bestiality in the game for sure, but I think they're keeping the door open for that...

They don't even need to come up with bs excuses to procrastinate, patreon just gave them carte blanche to reinvent forever and just keep collectig bucks.

This is phenomenal. Month after month of doing jack shit, and the next update is saying they gotta redo the game to fit in with puritanical banking rules. At this point I don't even feel sorry for people who're dumb enough to give Eromancer their money. Y'all deserve to lose it.
They did exactly the same with "Malice and Machine".

And now (January 21st) they opened a SubscribeStar to, quoting again their last tweet: "creating WITHOUT CONTENT RESTRICTIONS".
So as I said, they're keeping the door open, especially if they see that the SubscribeStar campaign is having a similar success to the Patreon one.
