Did you play for long? Your first "solution" is exactly like that in the game.
Getting grabbed and getting fucked raise exhaustion in %. Around 60% it gets considerably difficult to break free, imo.
Well, it was already kinda sad, that they "needed" to change the forceful aspect of the grab and so on...
You're correct and I apologize for not looking more into it before criticizing. I saw the exhaustion value at the time but never felt the difference so I didn't figure out what it was for.
However, I do still think it's a bit too lenient. I can still escape pretty easily until exhaustion reaches 100%, at which point the game does not allow you to escape anymore. Even at 90% failing to escape isn't really a possibility to me.
I went for an actual session of decent length for the first time today, selecting Skyline, and it took 112 waves for me to reach that 100% exhaustion and fail to escape for the first time. (If it matters, I've barely played any beat 'em ups, and I did this with no items (not even clothes) except first aid kits and carbon knuckles.)
If you like that the game takes this long to defeat the player and get to the porn when you're actually trying to play it well, more power to you. Personally I would modify exhaustion to either have its value go up faster or have the scaling of the difficulty of escaping grabs as exhaustion goes up be harsher.
But hey, I'm someone who likes hard games and I am also pretty used to mashing my keyboard in this way due to playing certain games. So I'll admit there's probably bias due to both of those things.
