PURE ONYX August 2025 Progress Update!
View attachment 5237502
Hey everyone!
Apologies for being late again! I have some big news that will hopefully explain why things are even busier than normal. The TLDR is that after months of immigration paperwork we are relocating to Japan in October to better safeguard the project against censorship. Please check out the details on this topic below, as there could be a couple more interruptions to our usual release schedule for the next couple months.
That said, the next Pure Onyx release will be up ASAP (I'd estimate 2 days at the moment)!
The release should contain two new H scenes, including the first Splicer Looter scene, as well as an alternate Onyx + Syndicate Girl Phantom H scene. This will also be the first major release featuring the Unity 6 engine upgrade. We've also added early versions of the Spindlemorph (weaver type) and Biospider (spider hatchling) enemies. The Spider Caverns has been repurposed as a testing area for these guys, so don't be afraid of running into them in the other stages if you're waiting on the arachnophobia mode settings.

H Scene Progress
As mentioned above, this month's release should contain two new H scenes! The first is a Splicer Looter scene, and the second is a new Onyx + Syndicate Girl Phantom H scene featuring multiple imps. We've also added a new transition segment for the first Onyx + Syndicate Girl Phantom scene.
We're currently working on an extension to the Looter scene, as well as a group scene for the Ghouls and Onyx.
Also, I'm attaching the various crops / versions of FK-Doll's portrait to this post for you to download.

Relocation to Japan
For anyone that hasn't been following along lately, I'm in the process of relocating to Japan as a means to establish a foothold to better safeguard against future censorship.
We've now received approval from the Japanese government, and the move is set for mid-October. While work will largely continue as normal for most of the team, the next few months will be especially busy for me. I can’t guarantee there won’t be a few snags or delays in the release schedule during this transition, but I’ll keep you updated as things progress.
This is a major undertaking, as I have to uproot everything to make it happen. It’s not something I’m doing lightly, but it's something that cannot be put off and is a one-time shot that I feel will give us an advantage for the long-term survival and growth of our work.
Why Japan? Japan’s financial system is largely separate from the Western banking and payment networks that we’ve seen weaponized against creators. By establishing ourselves there, we’ll have access to banking infrastructure that is more stable, more independent, and potentially more resistant to censorship pressures. In short: this move is about making sure we can keep making the kind of uncompromising game you’ve supported us for, without fear that an outside entity can simply pull the plug.
Having a legal and financial base in Japan opens doors to new opportunities and access to an audience that appreciates the type of game we’re making. It’s also about protecting the community we’ve built, ensuring that your investment into our work doesn’t go to waste because of decisions made by companies or governments that don’t share our values.
An interruption like this is the last thing I want right now, as I'm eager to finish the game. But once this foothold is established, our studio will be in a much stronger position to push forward, take risks creatively, and deliver on the vision of PURE ONYX the way it was meant to be.
Thank you as always for standing with us, and expect further updates on our progress over the next few months!

Attention Canadian Citizens!
If you are from Canada, now is your chance to help in the ongoing censorship war!
There is a very important petition available to Canadian citizens regarding the overreach of payment processors and their extralegal influence on consumers and adult entertainment. It has real potential to get a law passed to combat this effect.
Firstly, if you are a Canadian citizen,You must be registered to see the links
If you are from anywhere else, please spread the word and let friends and influencers know about this very important petition. Canada passing a law would greatly influence how this is perceived in other countries, so don't pass on this just because you aren't from Canada!

Onyx Tier 10 Damage Sculpt
Demonu4 has completed the damage sculpt for Onyx's tier 10 gear! This one is the most unique out of all her outfits so far, so it's possible there may be some changes before we finalize it in order to make sure it works properly with all her other potential gear combos. One of the things I like most about this set is her long full-length gloves, something that should look cool when combined with her other jackets!
Unity 6 Upgrade Complete!
We finished the engine upgrade to Unity 6 this month! With it we've gained access to latest editor, improved debugging tools, and latest packages for things like content loading. By default we've found that Unity 6 utilizes modern hardware better, especially NVMe SSDs.
We've already begun digging into optimization, and have found and cleared a major bottleneck that can manifest on many system configurations to varying degrees (mostly Intel CPUs with Nvidia GPUs). In short, we've offloaded animation skinning (the real-time process of attaching/deforming the models to their skeletons during animations) from the CPU to the GPU. This bottleneck slowly got worse over time as our characters' skeletons became more complex due to requirements of additional bones for H content.
The result is that many characters onscreen would prevent the CPU from being able to saturate the GPU since it was spending so much frame-time skinning characters. With this new solution, people that had noticeably sluggish framerates while having relatively high end Nvidia GPUs like RTX 3080s and higher should see massive FPS improvements when multiple characters are onscreen. In the most extreme cases we've seen 3x FPS improvements.
While debugging the Unity 6 transition, Mr. Kittyhawk also improved and fixed a lot of enemy AI navigation and movement code. The result is that all enemies move much more smoothly without having to pause when re-pathing. The Larva and Crawlers also have had most of their movement bugs fixed.

Arachnophobia Mode
Since we're in the process of adding spider enemies, I've been getting a lot of messages and requests for an arachnophobia mode. We don't have the resources to make entirely alternate versions of the enemies, but we're looking at simpler solutions like using funny images as replacements as some games have done. One idea was billboard sprites of 8 legged cats, or spiders wearing goofy masks. Another possibility would be to use our mosaic censoring system that we added for the JP version of the game to pixel censor the spider enemies. This way you could still sort of see their animation cues for combat purposes. Feel free to suggest ideas for this.

Spider Enemy Combat Animations
We've added the first Spider enemies to the game! The first major one is the Spindlemorph, a weaver-type biomonster that will utilize web projectiles and hanging / ambush maneuvers.
Currently we've only added his melee attacks, as the others will require some new code that will be completed soon.
Since the arachnophobia mode has not been added yet, these enemies will only be found in the Spider Caverns stage for now. If this changes in the coming updates I'll make sure to post about it.

Spider Hatchling
Brum, our generalist developer that has recently been working on the NPC follower drones, has been learning from Mr. Kittyhawk (one of the lead programmers) how to add enemies to the game. Mr. Kittyhawk has a lot of responsibilities such as general Unity shenanigans (like the Unity 6 upgrade), combat, physics, enemy AI and navigation, all on top of adding new player and enemy abilities.
Offloading some of this work to Brum will (and is already) clearing one of the bottlenecks in our pipeline, as he's already helped with adding the Spindlemorph enemy, and has added the Spider Hatchling (Biospider) enemy entirely on his own (including making his own placeholder animations).
The enemy is simple at the moment, but expect tighter animations and more attacks soon!
Yeah, get a new internet provider. It took 9 minutes on my end..5hrs to download, some one have a better option?
Can you move it to gdrive? I would really appreciate it if you didIf yall have issues downloading i can move it to MEGA or GDRIVE
He needs to update the requirements because it now only should work on 10 and 11, Unity 6 as far as I know doesn't even run on 8.well. it was kinda fun, but i jump from this now. this new unity is not compatible with my pc.
I knew something like that was going to happen when they said they changed to unity6 .
Looking forward to spider sex in 5 years. Here's the Progress Update from 5 SEPTEMBER 2025.
Notice how he said this release will be out in "2 days". Yeah, still hasn't happened as of 10 SEPTEMBER 2025.
