Strictly speaking, it is not a lie, there is a scene where the princess makes a double of the protagonist, although it is the same person, it counts as one more male and the other one you point out is also true because there is a futanari scene where the princess and the queen have sex with the demon queen, so the two tags are fine, although without the proper context you can reach erroneous conclusions
Some of the debate is more about localizers changing too much the meaning for an agenda or censorship...but I don't want to open that abyss. Obviously it is not a b/w issue, since there is no perfect translation-localization, but there can be a better judged and worse judged ways to treat material. And a lot of terms are being thrown around too much, debate is too heated etc.Ah, but what you're asking for is not merely translation but localization, and haven't you heard? That's "woke" and thus bad now, because reasons.
Thank you so much for making me consider this game.
Or make the game enjoyable for many. I personally find these sole-male fat ugly bastard protagonist games absolutely pathetic and boring. To your benefit tho, I can confirm there is no actual other male than the protag. The only 1 MMF group sex scene is with a clone of yourself.
Are you seriously defending those scumbags?Ah, but what you're asking for is not merely translation but localization, and haven't you heard? That's "woke" and thus bad now, because reasons.
Futa is avoidable, and I assume the swinging bit is the harem endingIs futa and swinging avoidable? what even is the swinging content in this game?
A translator's job is to translate a text/speech in a way that is the most natural, easiest to understand and, usually, but not always to localize cultural elements, expressions and ideas that may be unfamiliar to the reader. I say usually, because sometimes you want to preserve as much of the original text's cultural references as much as possible for whatever reason. A translator's job includes by necessity localization. Even old fan-subs did this, but in a really poor way by adding translator's notes into the corners to explain jokes that would otherwise be completely unrecognizable and unfunny to the receiver while a better approach (simplified) would translate the joke into an idea that's more understandable by the viewer and conveys the same or a similar enough idea but this time the viewer would know what the funny part is supposed to be. Sometimes it does lead to odd results, for example the classic jelly donut example from Pokemon because the company deemed that young children (target audience) at the time would have no idea about Japanese culture and a more heavy-handed approach was needed. Having visuals to go with a translation always complicates things. This also includes considering if some part of the content may be problematic in the culture of the intended audience and coming to a decision what to do about it.Are you seriously defending those scumbags?
It is bad, a translator job is to translate. Not completely rewrite the story to fit their dumbfuck agenda.
And almost as bad is that they constantly cram in outdated memes instead of a translation. As if anyone would recognize them a few years down the line
Lets agree to disagree there.Even old fan-subs did this, but in a really poor way by adding translator's notes into the corners to explain jokes that would otherwise be completely unrecognizable and unfunny to the receiver while a better approach (simplified) would translate the joke into an idea that's more understandable by the viewer and conveys the same or a similar enough idea but this time the viewer would know what the funny part is supposed to be.
... there is a vast leap you are not explaining between "jokes don't make sense so they need to be replaced with completely different jokes" and "lets cram it with our political agenda and memes"Tl;Dr translation includes some degree of localization by necessity and you can't do anything about it and translation extends past "just turn text to English".
this is not the translator's decision to make.problematic
thank you.Futa is avoidable, and I assume the swinging bit is the harem ending
That's how it is. Of course the self inserts are gonna be translated first. Its really a bore.Or make the game enjoyable for many. I personally find these sole-male fat ugly bastard protagonist games absolutely pathetic and boring. To your benefit tho, I can confirm there is no actual other male than the protag. The only 1 MMF group sex scene is with a clone of yourself.
I hate how they ignore all the most popular and highest requested orcsoft titles and choose to localize only the vanilla ugly bastard shit. Fucking cowards can't take a chance with something a bit more niche and have to only appeal to delusional ugly bastards apparently.
this version is 1.02 and they are already on 1.04 so until no one updates the game you will have those problemsA couple of times now when a character says something, no text is displayed even though there are voice lines being played. Anybody got a clue what's causing it, solvable or not?

This has also happened a few times (so far), where the text is wonkily formatted and gets partially cut off
