He only starts the cycle when he releases a new update or is in active development of the game, if not he pauses payments and does not charge.

It was even during the first game. It has been paused on many occasions, just because it didn't happen when you were paying doesn't mean it didn't happen, sort of like a tree falling in the woods when no one is around, does it make a sound?
To support the development of a game you like by a developer you like, and would like to assist him in further development. Development costs money.
I'm talking about developers like this who are known not to post anything for months on end.
The developer of BADIK takes a year to produce an update. I support him throughout, because I like the product and want him to continue... even though he's probably richer than all of us.
There are actually a lot of really good games out there, with developers who put in the time and resources to improve their craft. Many of them have a successfully completed game(s) to their credit. I have no problem in finding developers to support financially. The problem is that I don't have enough funds to support all the one's I like.
That's what I thought too in the first part of the game, but you know what ? Slow as he is, he managed to complete it. Now, may be things won't turn out the same way for part 2, but with the tons of the games out there and the unstoppable growing percentage of abandoned ones, we should avoid having high expectations and take things as they come.
What are you talking about ? This games was updated less than 3 weeks agoWell the last preview was in October, after that it became dead as a tank. Does anyone know what this preview was?
