you start with 1 unless MC says otherwise, try to click it in green zone and increase the value you click each time.

So for the first race, you will click 1,2,3,4,5 sequentially at the green zone which is around 7000rpm. When MC says I need to hit 2 gear first, you do that then 3,4,5 and so on. It's extremely easy.

Well, any option goes. Btw, if the pregnancy option was when she got pregnant instead of she was pregnant, that would make more sense, am I wrong?

it's not just changing gears, it's also the choices ( like picking to go left or right) in between changing gears that can affect the outcome of the race.

I think I was reading something wrong my first time, and I was clicking on the gear I was already in, instead of the gear I needed to shift to

I was just interpreting the minigame instructions wrong. I thought it was telling me to hit the gear shown, for some reason.

That's what got me during my first attempt. Clicking 1 sounded insane to me, I expected the car to be in the first gear already.
