Allow me to explain why my demand, my expectation of Cooper to hand down his wife for me is entirely reasonable.
Friendship and love have no value if they aren't facing hardship. This goes way back to Hiob. Self-rightous prick that is god, he exclaimed that Hiob loved him. Why, of course he does, the devil rightly so points out. God blessed Hiobs life, children, house and farm. Why wouldn't Hiob love him? Likewise, why wouldn't a child love a parent that gave him a home, food, clothes, money, attention, care and love? But what if that parent, being humanly faulty, was stressed, sick and overburdened with the childs raisement? What if the parent neglected and abused it? If the child would then still love its parent, not because but despite their flaws and hardship, then that love would have value.
