That'd be seen as a ridiculous over the top ntr-style horror story. Clearly the tone of this game isn't going for that - but that's my point, it's utterly silly to apply real world relationship logic to a world built on non-existent rules.

I was very disappointed to see the only Allison sex scene be placed on the hate route - that pretty clearly communicated to me where the dev's personal interests lie. (this is all an aside ofc, Veronica and Maggie's path are far more enjoyable than either of Allisons)

Porn is about people fucking, no more no less, sometimes dressed in a shitty story to accommodate the mentioned fucking . There are games that do just that, but this ain't one of them.

I don't say it's a porn game because there's sex present. I say it's a porn game because of the narrative leaps it takes - such as I described above. Relax, I'm not coming for your first born, the rest of the game was extremely enjoyable; I just think the whole Allison-daughter care segments juxtaposed with mc's free-fucking behvaior felt incongruent.

In contrast, the segments where Veronica wants to break up if you push her away or give in to Jasmine too much felt very mature and well-done, I was impressed with how he did those paths.

Ppl going to great lengths to debate stuff happening in the story can only mean the story's worth it and on its sure way to become a success. Their fictional divorce became more debated and heated than Johnny's with Amber Turd was and just as interesting to follow lol. I'm not judging anyone, cuz I did my fair share of debating on this topic too.

But seriously now, I for one would've preferred their already-failing marriage ended in divorce bcz of the player's choice, not the 'plot'. This way, instead of both routes having one of them become the bigger idiot to blame on one route than on its counterpart, the player themselves would decide IF Jake and Allison really do divorce and try to work together as best as they can to co-parent Lily OR they stay together, work on their marriage and make things work eventually. It's the same shit, only this time, we'd have control over what they do and say to save their marriage or flush it down the toilet and find a different path in life.

A reconciliation route like this would of course be shorter than what we already have, but still a better option to leave a big decision like this for the players to make, instead of having to deal with all the fuckery, nagging and constant arguing for the sake of trying to throw a lil bit of realism in their example.

I, on the other hand, still have a lot of obvious reasons to think the writer did and keeps doing Veronica dirty, fuck knows why, and instead of making the fans like her more on her romance or cuckquean path, he doubles down on her annoying and exaggerated clinginess, jealousy and possessiveness in every update as if intentionally wanting them to hate her even more than they already do.

It don't make any sense to my why he'd do this to an LI, unless we'll eventually find out she's bipolar or something for the sake of adding more drama where it's not needed, but it sure shows great results... Veronica haters are having a blast trolling and figuratively beating on her like she was a glorified pinata with a big booty and big tits.

I know she's supposed to be a very caring, sweet and loving albeit very jealous and possessive latina too type of LI, but ffs, when a guy's lil daughter's life is hanging by a thread, a stupid romance and a latina milf version of a teenage girl jealous outbursts are the last things he needs to worry about, and as a reasonable human being and supposedly smart, respected academic, she should know this. (V, potential ex-V fan here)

I agree with both points of view, this is a porn game and if you wish by choices it isn't (can't really remember if there is any porn/sex scene forced on us though, my memory sucks haha). The plot/story about a divorcee that goes racing/work hard on his project to save his daughter. This visual novel probably can be also enjoyable for those that prefer to skip or not to see the very adult/porn elements of it. Well myself first came for the porn and usually I stay in the games if the other elements of it are good enough too and that is the case of Race of Life, enjoyable story overall and gameplay.

So I'm kind in the middle there .

Welcome and I must say I like your taste of games too. About the updates I guess the span between them get a bit larger as the story branches more, for example episode 3 were cut in two parts while 1st and 2nd were full releases (I'm here since the start of episode 3 though so take it with a grain of salt). Gap between 1st and last update is 25 months more and less and there was 3 bigger updates since then so around 8 months average, guess it is a good estimate. About dev logs no idea how often, maybe someone can tell you.

Edit: Just checked the date of my first save, 5th June last year.

im a believer in it depends entirely on your own POV if it's porn or not I don't care if it is technically by definition. Despite having sex scenes in it to me that doesn't automatically = porn. I'd personally classify this game somewhere in the middle cause it feels more story than porn to me but it's hard to deny scenes like the Veronica parking alot and most of Nat's scene + Extra's feel more like porn to me. But id say most of the scenes in this game do not count as such for me. Tho seeing how things are speeding up in the lewd department I can see that opinion of mine changing for this game.

I couldn't play 3.2 yet but until now, I liked how Veronica is caring, understanding, wants a deep, long term relationship and keeps a positive attitude, even with a man who was openly not serious about getting into a relationship. I don't care if she might be like that out of desperation to find a suitable husband before hitting the wall (like if a woman like that could be desperate in any universe or alternative reality lol), she is acting great for a positive relationship.

As you can see, ACT II is going to be the longest one. So I think updates will come once a year from now on.

So it could be that it's 5 of the estimated nine or ten episodes making up the middle arc, for example. That's not to say though that it can't mean longest to develop, and it could mean both.

Well maybe but it is just a matter of organize and plan correctly, an episode can be cut in 2 or even 3 so the gap in between the updates get shorter, of course you don't get all the episode in one update but IMHO it is better than some other games that plan an enormous (not to say ridiculous) amount of renders and animations like 7k+ renders and 200+ animations and you wait over 1 year for it (we all know what game I'm talking about) and that works if they have a lot of support from patreons/subscribers, even if they lose some of the more impatient subscribers during development they still have enough revenue to make a good quality update product. Not every developer has that luxury so they better plan according to the fidelity of their paying supporters.

True. They may split future updates into 2 or 3 parts to shorten the time between them. But even so, I don't think there will be more than one update per year. The plot is so thicc for that now, if you know what I mean.
