Where does it say her parents are from Canada? Her sister is in Canada (but not necessarily from Canada), and there's the bits posted above about being raised in a Chilean household, too.My bad
So she was talking about an English-language professor rather than an English person?
Well, based on her last name, Monroe, I looked up the origins of the name and found that it goes back to Scotland and Ireland. So my statement is correct that she is British because of the name, even if her parents are from Canada, since Canada follows the British Crown as part of the Commonwealth.
