I just downloaded the latest version on Fek's Patreon, but I can't seem to run it on my Mac. Does my device running on M1 has something to do with it? I really want to play the game and payed money just for me to download it. hopefully someone helps.

Should really be bugging Fek, I don't know if anyone here plays on Mac but the game is tempermental enough on windows.
I have been rather autistically obsessing about this game for about 4+ years, checking daily for the next update..

possibly in the <user app data>\locallow\fek\rack 2 furry science\savedata\user.racksettings
I see options for autoquality / autoquality fps target but didn't see one for screen resolution

There were advanced install instructions somewhere. You need to wait longer, the game is setting itself up. You might need to delete some of your saved user settings from the game folder on C drive if it doesn't start as force quitting mid setup can corrupt the contents of the files.

I think there are a few minor mods if you really dig into the threads or the reinvented discrod but I have no clue if they are compatible with the last version or if they are compatible with the major mod of reinvented.

It's been a looong time since I've looked, but I don't think so. Game had enough customization and features to not warrant mods, except to fix stuff Fek never finished.
You can only dismiss subject and save them as favourite (there will be checkbox when you dismiss a subject), then chose them again through client manager. You might need to restart the game for favourite subjects to appear.

If you're not using mods, and can't be bothered to restart the game to re-roll the clients, you can just esc -> preferences, change any minor thing - sex ratio, fetish, race preferences - and save, and that clears up current generated subjects.
