did dev gave any date for the update? honest question
As far as I know he hasn't said anything yet. Supposedly the last scene for the update is finished so all that should be left is the code. But the update will probably not come out this month. Maybe next month.

More an interpretation of his last progress update:
Probably too hopeful an interpretation, I doubt testers have gotten shit lol
Was just going to say that. People assume its already gone to the testers, but no one has actually confirmed.

Even if he had a valid "medical" excuse, it's no reason to gaslight people (if it's not scam) about your work
Not trying to give him excuses or justify it. I hold honesty above all. Just that when you're burnt out, sometimes it hard to see it yourself and people end up lying and in denial, and eventually procrastinating and crashing in failure.
Wrong is wrong tho and lying is wrong, obviously.

I wrote what I wrote more as actual coping for the consumer than an excuse for the creator.

I used to be a Radiant $ supporter but stopped when Sir D could not maintain consistent communication and His stated delivery schedules.

Reality - Radiant arrives this month or not.

Meanwhile, for many of us, other devs Are delivering content in the last month of 2024.

I'll enjoy Radiant when the next rev arrives.

For now, I am enjoying/looking forward to enjoying the content of a number of devs who actually communicate with their fans and generally stick to their stated delivery schedules.

IMO - there is less frustration with Radiant when it becomes part of the icing on the cake versus treating it like it Is the cake.

In December 2024, there is plenty of cake to enjoy.

Cheers!! :coffee:

Amen to that. I stopped supporting long ago, and I keep coming back to eat popcorn while reading this thread and chuckling at how many people want to decide what others do with their money.

TBH, i stopped giving a F about what Sir Jammed tells long ago. Will i ever support him again? Highly unlikely as he would need to become consistent for quite some time before I consider it, and for now it does not seem to be going that way.

If an update come one day, I will come to check what it is about. In the meantime, plenty of fish in the sea.

I'm probably a bad fisherman (made some unfortunate choices). Unfortunately, many of the fish I catch are slightly stinking. Is it really my fault that when I like something, it is not first class? ;)

I still think this game would be one of the biggest games on patreon in terms of support if they had better communication and were able to release updates more often. It's almost like the devs don't want the game to grow.

Yeah, considering the success of their first release alone, this could be among the top games if they would manage consistent 2-3 updates a year and good communication....but it is what it is
It's rather one dev doesn't want to work hard on the game
While that may be the truth, Alorth still is going along with it for years...bit hard to say it's all because of Dammed at this point imo.

It still is, just because adult VNs quality in general is still very bad or when you once in a full moon get a good VN its ultra safe and vanilla and also because F95 lately ban selectively creators with teen characters that dont look clearly 18+ like I just saw they did with new artist TeenX that wanted to start a VN with very high quality models that I haven't seen yet here on F95 but somehow they allow games/content like this or Sunset Fairies etc with clearly younger models.
It is just me that was actually excited to check F95 latest games releases 2-3 years ago while now I go not expecting any good new games but only some old games updates like this one. I swear that 99% of new VNs all have same generic Patreon safe characters.

I agree.

Sir Damned is limited by his own lack of focus/choice to dilute his brand using his creator ID on X versus using a different User ID for non AVN activities.

If he ever decides to prioritize Radiant for an extended period - he'd start to rebuild his $ subscriber base and we would get updates ~ every 4 months.

For me - I now treat a Radiant update as an unexpected surprise - something to be enjoyed but certainly not counted on with a consistent delivery frequency.

Cheers!! :coffee:
