Dammed abandonded Polarity for this game, his reason, this makes more money and Polarity fans being Radiant fans either way...neither does he has an other game to my knowledge. Both devs work on quite a few other AVN's. They have been pretty clear multiple times that Radiant isn't a fulltime project nor do they devote most of their resources onto it. But let the autists keep malding, it's what makes threads that haven't had an update in a while fun.
I think Neko Paradise gets at least a couple updates per year, but they aren't really that big either.Dammed abandonded Polarity for this game, his reason, this makes more money and Polarity fans being Radiant fans either way...neither does he has an other game to my knowledge.
Alorth has, or at least had, some guys which worked for him and to help him with his other projects.
Eitherway this is, or at least was, their main game, which also makes the most money.
So, care to tell where all their resources are going, because it's neither Radiant, nor Neko Paradise and sure as hell not Polarity.
He does the animations as far as i know.I think Alorth also does some stuff for Tales From the Unending Void.
Kek, ftr I'm not defending the dev at all. I agree he's most likely procrastinating making the game and is being extra shitty by actively avoiding accountability for it. I know this is as a serial procrastinator myself.Out of nowhere, right?![]()
Are you kidding?Kek, ftr I'm not defending the dev at all. I agree he's most likely procrastinating making the game and is being extra shitty by actively avoiding accountability for it. I know this is as a serial procrastinator myself.
This is why I tend to get annoyed with these devs as these motherfuckers never storyboard or draw even a rough roadmap of how they tend to work this out resulting in them running into a creative wall and usually either wind up either freezing or second-guessing themselves resulting in shitty-ass reboots.
But... y'all blasting him for playing a game? Like why? Do you really think the best possible solution for someone with an artist block (yeah, it sounds weird in the context of a porno game but it still applies) is to lock them in a methaphorical oubliette and not let them out until they've crafted something in that headspace? Ya think it'll be any good?
And I've seen comments saying the dev says he's sick but he that can't be true because he's playing video games. Why not? Speaking from experience I game the most when I'm ill, it engages a different part of the brain than the creative process.
The people making these games are still humans, sadly you can't force someone to be consistently creative or productive.
So you're saying Every dev should deliver a full update every 3 months or else (stop $ from coming in)?Are you kidding?
Sir D is quite ready, able and willing to make his own excuses. You somehow find your way to this thread and offer yet more excuses.
If a Dev cannot deliver a FULL update in ~3 months from the prior update, there should at least be a pause in the monthly subscription for a game's supporters. That way, whatever excuse is "created" at least has some plausibility. As far as I am aware, this Dev-team seems very much against such a radical idea.
So, your "maybe this, perhaps that" theory ONLY benefits not only the Radiant Devs, but all Devs in general.
Nice try, champ.
The key word is "artificial". In 2017, most games updated monthly. Things were in sync : one update in return for one monthly subscription fee. This time-frame is also the most common IRL for most larger money exchanges for the average Joe/Jane.A three month arbitrary deadline for updates is a ridiculous thing to try to apply to every game, but the 12+ months this game takes to release a full chapter is equally ridiculous.
The updates are never going to be faster for this game though. They've proven that over the last 3+ years. This thread will be a happier place when everyone accepts that.

The other most common big-organization IRL wealth-exchange is quarterly, or every 3 months. Next would be yearly.
Without a hard-and-fast timeframe for VN production, the average interval between updates has probably drifted to at least 6-7 months (more if games like Polarity are counted). But payments have remained on a monthly basis.
The payment system, pioneered by Patreon, is broken badly for paying supporters. But for Devs, especially, the present situation is great. Less work for more money.
Not one of the several shill-posters that post in this thread will admit that supporters generally get a raw deal. In their view there is no problem to fix. Dev paradise.
Meanwhile, what is almost certainly the main cause of Dev burnout, blow and hookers or somesuch similar, is NEVER mentioned.
Losing the discipline of regular work by stalling/milking, and somehow still getting paid, is not viable for most people even if they laughably call themselves "Creators".
Yeah this is my main issue with the situation. Because of games like this and milfy city, people become so distrustful of devs that every time a dev has to delay a release for legitimate reasons, people swarm to these threads accusing them of "milking".Games like Radiant probably ruin things for everybody though. When the entire business model is reliant on people trusting you to actually work on your game and it becomes obvious that you aren't (as is the case with Radiant), people are less likely to want to donate their money to any AVN devs. The big names that reliably put out big updates for their games will be fine, but I imagine it's difficult for new devs to break into the AVN market when a bunch of games feel like scams.
Most VNs, most definitely Radiant, resemble comedy movies : a bunch of disjointed events/episodes with a wafer-thin plot. When in doubt, switch on the kinkiness. Good writing this ain't. Can still be fun though like a good joke.Well said. The only part I don't fully agree with is expecting every dev of every game to be able to put out updates every three months. I mean, sure, it's possible, but I'd rather have an update stop at a logical place in the story rather than in the middle of a scene.
I think there are more reasons for updates taking longer on average to release than just lazy devs too. The average game looks way better now than they did even a few years ago. That raises the amount of work devs need to put into their game if they want to have any chance of gaining attention, much less money, from people.

I didn't play the last update so I don't know if they added more girls. But judging by the number of girls in the prior update, it doesn't seem that bad. The problem is that you only get 1 update per year so the progress feels really slow. If this had updates every 3 or 4 months like some games on this forum have, the current number of girls wouldn't really be a problem.Welp, numbers are falling. 942 Patrons, 114 Subscribers and who knows how many coffees are being bought.
This could have been a fun romp through drama land with some really touching moments but it fell into the trap of so many other VNs: More Girls == Better Game.
