Without having any insight at all into the Radiant dev team's setup, it sounds unlikely that they actually sit around not working while the renders are running. The whole idea is a non-starter.
I've read dozens of threads in years past where members volunteered to help out with the rendering directly to a Dev (or at least a dev-teamer). To say all volunteers were quickly snubbed is an understatement.
It seems Devs act like magicians (rebranded as "illusionists", which makes more sense) in that trade secrets are very, very secretive.
With even half-decent hardware you can easily batch-render a day's work overnight while you sleep. What eats up time in Daz3d are things like posing, setting up scenes with all the objects and characters, setting up lights and so on. Not things you can really let volunteers do for you.
