To be fair he lost almost a quarter of his subs in the last year. He had a good increase of new subs in march but after that he just kept losing subs.

And that's what make me sad, maybe a little angry, too, but mostly sad. For approximately the same amount of money per month (4.6k$), I have to work really hard, most of the time around 10hrs a day without any access to Internet, Social Media or whatsoever. And I have to pay taxes and dues as well. Unfortunately, I lack any talent to come up with a good story myself and I am a complete dilettante when it comes to graphic or photo editing. I am not complaining, because that is how life looks for most people. My income is above average in my area, it is sufficient for my purposes and I am mostly satisfied with my life.

But it makes me sad to see someone with an obvious talent which people are willing to pay for and that someone seems to waste that opportunity. SirD already earns the same amount of money as I do for doing what exactly? If he (or she?) pulled himself together and published an update bi-annually, he could probably make a fortune. The game is really good and unique.

Yeah life is unfair, some people work 10h a day for minimum wage while some assholes don't even work but are rich

I mean honestly most of the talent comes from the people in Alorth's studio doing the art. I love this game, but it's not like this has a super deep and complex story and you can easily find someone to code a renpy game. This is not one of those VNs that have mini games and stuff like that.

Story is pretty basic, chapter 1 made a lasting effect but after that it's not very good but good enough for the renders to carry it. The same story in honey select for instance wouldn't have had as much success imo

Yeah after chapter 1 the main complaint about the game has been the writing. There were pages and pages of people talking about the cop stuff. No one liked it. That is why I think Alorth could very easily just find someone else to do the code and the writing. At this point I wouldn't even mind if Alorth did a complete reboot if it meant SirD wasn't involved anymore.

Yeah, after the strong first release the writing quality was going down.
The cop stuff was just unnecessary and bad all arround. Too many side girls imo.
But the weakest part, for me, is how the mother of the dead boy was handled...like she waited nearly 2 decades, just shows up the same day as the girls, comes to kill the mc, runs away, then the park talk which ended being slapped and an invite to a coffee, followed by a naked massage...all in a couple of days, no real build up or relationship development, no dealing with the past.

Yeah, Alorths nice visuals with a good (and dependable) writer would be really nice.

It's even sadder that some of the Devs of much better games cannot get a fraction of those money. As a result, many of them stop developing their games.

I mean what is better or not , it's subjective. But yea it's kind of frustrating to see some devs having to work on their games while also having full time jobs and barely getting any support and then you have people like SirD that just sit around doing nothing.

Honestly I had no issues with the virgin mother stuff. It's not like we don't have IVF in real life. I think the mother of the kid he killed being so horny for him right after meeting him was way dumber. At that point in the game there were plenty of girls already. A slow burn with her would make more sense
