Not saying Alorth is blameless, some choices like that artist he hired from North Korea are hard to believe at best...

But maybe, just maybe, it was like dammed said himself, he decided to remake several scenes new and extended some...which requiered new renders. And yeah, sorry some people like to spend their holidays without work, their family or friends. Even more so if said work comes just one or 2 days before holidays, after Dammed did god knows what for for the better part of the year...
Also what difference do make a couple of days off, for holidays, at this point ?
Not like the game is already late for half a year...or Dammed was already finished with his part and just waited for a couple of renders from Alorth...not even Dammed claims that.

Sure, take the day before and after the holidays off. That's far from abnormal. The 4 days before? That's 2 days to do 1 day of work, which leaves plenty of time to get anything done before the family arrives. Why did the first we hear about SirD having the rest of the renders not come until mid January? Kinda looks like someone thinks its acceptable to take winter break as a professional. It's not. SirD did comment on Jan 4th, I believe, in Discord. Lets give Alorth the benefit of the doubt and assume that was the day SirD received the bulk of the renders, but not all. That's two weeks, wasted, for a days work. Even if you assume SirD would've taken 6 days off for the 2 holidays, that's still 8 wasted days. And both parties are acting like this is normal for their development. So how many times per update do such unnecessary delays occur?

If Alorth were treating this like just more contract work and not a project he's partnered on, that would explain a whole hell of a lot. It wouldn't explain why his other work is also so far behind, but it would make sense then if he told SirD he'd have to wait months just for him to begin on the reworked renders. It would also explain why he'd take a week or more to do a days worth of renders, if he had other contract work set up during that window. This is actually very common behavior for contractors, often even if you're paying them a premium to have full-time, on-site staff. And if this were contract work, it would place the blame squarely on SirD for failing to properly schedule this. If not, and Alorth is treating this as a partnered project, he'd have to sign off and agree that it was necessary to do the rework. Which means he's just as culpable.

There's only one scenario where Alorth doesn't share full responsibility for these delays.

This is by far the worst thread I've seen. Some games are currently projected to take damn near twice as long before their next update and you don't see this bs. Sure, every few days you'll see someone asking about word on the next update, but that's about it. Those people often get ridiculed for even asking. Truthfully, it's kinda disgusting how some devs are given a complete pass for things that lead to even longer delays than we've seen here. And I've certainly never seen a game where there was a team or duo working on a game where one specific dev was singled out so completely, against all logic.

It certainly won't. This update has already taken twice as long as intended and that was for reworks. There was never even a mention of incorporating additional content to compensate for the delays, and I wouldn't expect it under the circumstances. If it were a coding error, they certainly could have the additional story/renders and even most of the code in place, but it was the story. That very well could've impacted the story moving forward, too. Which, hopefully, SirD worked out while he was spending so much time waiting for Alorth to get the renders sent over. If not...

Oh I wasn't trying to imply that people weren't justified to complain about it not being worth the wait time. I guess we will have to wait and see the amount of content that is in the update. But yea when you take almost a full year to release an update people are expecting a really big one and it probably won't be that much bigger than their previous updates.

Yes, like Rebirth. 5 seasons, updated monthly, finished in 4 years (or so, I didn't measure it). Of course, the quality can't be compared, but the enthusiasm, no matter what.... These guys (SirDammed and Alorth) are sitting on a gold mine - so they should move their pickaxes faster!

They had 5 years to get their shit together I don't see it changing now. I don't see them releasing more than 1 update per year, for that to happen they would need to lose a lot of support and it seems like that won't happen anytime soon.

That is pretty much how Alorth does treat this project thought, at least it sounds like it when you read his posts.
Well i have no clue how many renders Alorth needed to remake in total, just the ones before christmas. But from what i remember, Dammed said, he completely remade 2 large scenes and changed some others, sounds more than just a days worth of renders.

Yeah, i don't think Alorth did have much say or sign for the scenes which were reworked. From how i understand it, he simply makes the renders in this project.
At least from his posts he didn't even know the progress on Dammed's part, the exact reason for the delays (be it rework or the months before) or had an estimate when Dammed's part will be finished...

I do think most of the blame lies with Dammed (he does and says just the same things as he did for his other game), but yes, after 5years of this clown show i think they are both to blame.

I replied to the guy's statement about Alorth just as much responsible for the delay because he's not doing some renders on, or just days before christmas, which SirD ordered for the rework.
I can understand Alorth not spending christmas doing said renders (especially if that order came after months of delay and apparently bad communication, on SirD's part), not like Alorth having couple of days off for holidays will make a difference.

As for Dammed...no, i haven't forgotten his promises and the usual bs he talks, really same as usual.
If anything, i believe the guy slacked off again, noticed the subs and/or Alorth getting feed up again and was like 'shit, need to get some work done'.

The last message SirD released seemed like the most "desperated" so far. It looks like he's really putting in some effort last minute to finish it soon. (I wanna believe)

It's cute how some thought the update would be out in January. Said it before this dev is lazy, has not changed since his first game. Same lies. Be out in 2 weeks, 2.5 months later.

This game will die before it gets anywhere. People forget after so long and become disinterested and this type of entertainment is slowly dieing.
