Not sure where you get your information, but his SirD's rights to this game never end unless he, in writing, relinquishes them, which I would say is highly unlikely.

The only way it is protected is through copyright and even then you still have to take legal action and sue, it is also recommended that you pay the fees so you have proof, laws also differ by country. A lot of developers don't copyright or are willing to sue attorney aren't cheap.

I think the best he could hope for is throwing DMCA notices at web hosts that had a remake on them. Lawsuits are far too costly, especially when you go International. And then the DMCA comes under the purview of "how much is original vs how much is remade". He spends so little time as it is on the game, it'd thrash his whole leisure time schedule to hell.

Its been literally alm a year since i've last checked up on this game, did the dev go silent? Whats been going on with the game (assuming you may know but no big deal if not)?

Nothing has changed, the communication still sucks and he still only releases one update per year. But he said that next year he will release 3 updates lol. I am sure this time he will keep his promise

Nope. The next update was supposed to be focused on maddie but for some reason the dev changed his mind and it seems like it will focus on side characters again.
It's more likely that the game will be abandoned before we get anything with allison.

I highly doubt the game will be abandoned. If it gives SirD a good amount of money for a minimum effort work then he'd have to be stupid to just pull the plug on it. And if the patreons never lose interest then you have a profitable game that requires little to no attention

That's what we have today, right now. And it's been that way for over a couple of years(?). SirD gives it little to no attention, his subs apparently haven't made a lot of noise, and he still gets paid for what little he does. It probably won't change until his subs stop boot-licking and get frustrated, start cancelling and badmouthing. That may take quite a while seeing as they're under his thumb currently.

To be fair he has been losing subs. Since March he lost around 300 subs. But he is still earning 4k a month. 48k per year just to sit on your ass and spend your days on twitter is not that bad.
