People still supported him even when the game had not been updated for well over a year and the dude was on twitter talking about how he was spending hundreds of hours playing final fantasy.
But I think his luck will start to run out. The game will be 6 years old in April and it doesn't have that much content. The older the game gets the harder it will be to convince new people to subscribe. So 1 of 2 things will happen. He will either be forced to release more updates to keep the subs at a level where he can still make a living or he will have to abandon the game.
If he ends abandoning this game, that is the end for him as a developer. His reputation in the community is completely ruined at this point so I doubt anyone would want to work with him. And without someone to create the art he is fucked.

Alorth is responsible for rendering, scene composition and animation. He does this for other projects as well. This is his main specialisation and primary source of income.

SirD only writes the script, possibly makes some notes for Alorth (based on which he creates the graphics) and inserts it into the Renpy script.

Yea dw, were getting all the updates this year. SirD has learned and grown! he feels SOOOO sorry for leaving us with nothing, that hes been working extra hard!!!

I mean SirD is the one writing the story, if alorth doesn't know what is supposed to happen in the scenes he can't create the art. So yea even though in 99.9% of other games the art is the bottleneck, here it is the writing because the dev is just lazy and prefers to spend his time on twitter complaining about woke games instead of working on his own

Nah I think he will definitely release it next year, he has been losing subs for a while and he is not dumb, he knows he has to release something eventually.

I'm sticking with March if it's earlier I'll be pleasantly surprised, it's really sad when you get pleasantly surprised at a release a year later
