Honestly can't even blame the guy. If there were hundreds of morons willing to pay me a couple thousand bucks every month for literally doing nothing I'd also just do nothing. And this game wasn't even that good to begin with. It was just the girls and the visuals that stood out but Alorth has other games with much more content so it's not even sth exclusive to Radiant.

That's called not having a work ethic. Some people do, but many devs in the AVN circle clearly do not and simply milk what started out as promising titles. Unfortunately the more devs that do this, the more they hurt the Patron model for everyone - people get gun shy as a result.

Sorry to quote you and don't take this personally but I see this opinion here and on other threads all the time. And I couldn't disagree more, if you chose to scam people (like maybe SirD is doing) the fault is entirely on him, his patreon members can be dumb, naive or whatever you want to call them, but the one taking advantage of people dumbness is the one that should be criticized.
At least that's my opinion.

All good man. I mean sure it's not entirely ethical but at the same time it's not like he is forcing them. It just feels stupid to expect this guy to actually work on this game when he makes more or less the same money when he doesn't work on it you know. He would be popping an update every 2 months if people actually cared enough to keep track of their money and be a little sensible.

That's the risk you take when choosing to send your money to a random stranger on the internet. Obviously I agree with you but people should be more conscious too.

Burn out, motive decay and the assorted problems you get when you engage long term creative endeavors are also a thing.

People are changed by their work and time just as much as they change their work. So sometimes we grow beyond a project in a way where we lose any attachment and people tend to go on just by work ethic alone and that's when quality drops and people will start complain. Because the creative spark is not beholden to work ethics.

This is the nature of creative and generative endeavors. And we just don't want to let them die even though it'd be better. It's one of the main reasons why I advise people to make shit they can finish in a year.

I've done most of my shitposting while being depressed. So that's not really an argument.

That said, if you feel like you can't work on something, then just say so. If you ain't working but you are still raking in money, you are an asshole regardless.

Well, Patreon also bans incest, even for ‘unofficial’ patches. Radiant reeks of incest a mile away (hidden in a solid metal box and buried 30 feet underground), but SirD somehow managed to survive all the recent purges. Maybe they're afraid he'll shit on their Twitter feed (him and his cult)?
As for F95, I don't think he needs that site anymore...
