Where in the game did it tell you you get to control everything that happens?
You know you can have multiple saves right? i have had like 30 saves testing out different routes before. it's just a lot of work.
This kind of applies to almost every harem member, to an extent. There's very little corruption/manipulation allowed by the devs so instead we have to settle for brutally disfiguring, mind deletion or transformations we have no say or interest in.

The game is about being a dragon, you rape whoever you like, you conquer, you establish your will with violence. This is literally like the hook of the entire game. Hell, even one of the difficulty settings is "Power Fantasy".
That's a strawman. It's not about "changing the narrative", people just want more options.
Sure, the problem is "what happens" wasn't good. It didn't have to turn out this way at all, but it did and you can't do anything about it once you get to that point.

People have different tastes and its really rude to force some of them onto those that didn't ask for it.
Yet even in the Power Fantasy you are denied the opportunity to couple with the Maid/Adeline in the beginning. Will die if you stay and fight the guards and fail to defeat Sabetha and Inej if you attack them. So again, where in the narrative did the game tell you the story will do everything you want?

This is not entirely correct, in Power Fantasy you have to go out of your way to get killed, it's not something that happens by accident, you essentially die on purpose.
It is a strawman because you misrepresent what is actually being asked of here. This isn't a book, there is no one set path, just many branches and when playing you tailor your experience to that. It's about having more choices, more control, over your story, not changing it.
You literally cannot. Do you think people chose "yeah turn her into a deer" just to get mad on purpose? Only way to prevent this is to not have Malice, but what if you want Malice but don't want all this crazy shit happening? You have no such option.
What's a dragon got to do with whether its a harem or not? It makes no fucking difference! It's still a harem game about boinking people! I don't think you understand what genres and tropes are, they aren't "traps", they are the mechanism by which the story is structured around, and having your love interests get transformed against your will runs contrary to the core appeal of the game.

From their request it sounded like they didn't understand the nature of the game. They may have assumed that, because it's made in Renpy, that it's a VN with essentially one path, whereas it's actually a true game.

Even in a choose your adventure book or opened ended game there is a very finite limit to the options presented. Those options are limited by what the creator put in place. I used books and writer as the example as it's the most direct comparison to a Visual Novel but that fact does not change regardless the form of Media chosen. The Creator chooses the story path(s) and the audience engages it, limited by what was put before them.
I agree. If Malcie or Heliose is your favorite character then Deerie-Anne is an unfortunate casualty. It's not any different then missing Malygar Content because you choose Sunken Temple. It's a narrative choice by the creators. It's not a case of being unable to understand why people don't want their waifu to turn into a form no longer attractive. It's a case of not being able to understand why people want a plot so predictable and boring.
Because a Dragon changes the power structure and relationship structure heavily. In a way even King/Emperor style Harems can not do. A Dragon does not have the same kind of relationship expectations with a Harem.
Huh? No... they escape if you push them too hard (any dialogue option with "Strength" or "charm" after it), otherwise they're with you for life... and inej's dragon-cat babies are kinda cute.
Yeah, its why I asked a few posts earlier.. My instincts are telling me to kill him. The way he acts, the things hes been scurrying around behind everyone's backs. The way he talks to Valria like she be a useful tool for him. But if he has a storyline and most of his actions are a misconception or mabye hes just bad at it or prone with mistakes. I would rather see it play out. Im not really sure how we even go so close to begin with.. as far as I was aware, he was just another Kobold that looked diferent because he was engineered. I didnt even know he was classed as a captive like your other girls ?

It doesn't help that you basically HAD to bang an elf for years if you wanted new content. You lose SO MUCH by not fucking an elf. In fact you lose like THREE love interests worth of content if you DON'T fuck an elf.

How does that contradict it? If you want to get killed, why should you not be allowed to do it? You're the one in the driver's seat.
Nobody is asking for *every* single idea or option to be available. Only those that are actually important to people. If you were so dead set on the creator having the final holy word on everything, why have these different branching paths, why give people the choice if you're just going to take it away from them? Surely if the writer's word is law and you have no say in the matter, giving people choices is pointless? Answer is obviously no, you craft your own experience to your liking, it is the player who is the dragon who makes choices and forms bonds with the people he meets. This is why the comparison of your love interests to someone like Magalar doesn't make sense, normal people aren't okay with their loved ones being changed against their will. You do so only because you come from a dispassionate angle where you do not really see these characters as people close to you.
Dragon is just a big lizard dude, it's not that deep. There are harems where the protagonist has incredible powers too, it doesn't really matter, it's still a harem game, you're in it for the girls (or boys).
