Oh look, I'm late for the tier lists, haha:
I feel I oughta explain myself before I'm dragged to the stake by the Malice Supremacy Regime(90% of the thread). Malice is a great character, without her presence and what she represents, Heloise's romance wouldn't be a fifth as compelling; plus, she is the face of, perhaps, the most interesting part of the lore. However, I find her role as a romantic interest still quite lacking, now, that is mostly because she's only really present starting from act V, whereas others had the entire game, but the point still stands. I fully expect she'll rise through the tiers in the future, but as of now, she has to stay in the "just okay" category of warm holes for the dragon to fuck.
I find Adeline so high up in most lists to be a surprise. I see her as a scheming, impulsive, self-serving rat not unlike Balthorne who turned her faithful lover and protector into her sondragonhusband. Very much worst girl material, I wonder why she's so liked?
Valzira is so high up for two reasons. Her VA killed it, and the fact that she got turned into a nugget and STILL she antagonizes the dragon every chance she gets is very funny to me. Her consort path is a delight.
Now, I could tell you that the only reason Darja is all the way up in A tier is because her queen outfit is peak Gyaru design and the best in the game... and I will, that's exactly the reason. If not, she'd be straight up D.

Respectable. But I must correct you - Pissy Man goes to P tier (P stands for piss, naturally).
Other than that, I agree on Valzira. I've put her into her own tier not because I find her lacking, but because she's Valzira. She is as insufferable as she is endearing, in measure so equal you can't help but be annoyed by her and yet adoring her at the same time. Lilac lady is just the vibe she is.
Oh, and Adeline! There is certain sense of duty (she isn't in for the crown alone, her birthright is hers to take), extreme willfulness (the queen of all no shit statements, given the length she went into to make Bad Dragon the way he is) and patience. Not just because she plotted and endured, but because with her by your side you'll find her a pretty good companion that is always willing to listen to you and share her mind. She may not be the most honest of people, but I understand perfectly well why she isn't very fond on revealing the way she made you (like, common, no shit, bro!) - I think, if you didn't pick Infernals, you won't even have this option. Adeline is the child of her family, a Son-worshipper and a person with great power (once you restore her to the throne), not to say the one born into tumultuous times - it is to be expected for her to be conniving and cruel at times. She's definitely above Issa, who won't tell you the truth even if you threaten to eat him, and above fucking Naho of all waifus!
No offense to dog people here - Naho is endearing at times, but is kinda one-dimensional. At least that dimension isn't BOOOOZE or DRAAAGON SIIIIMPING.

Kinda surprised you didn't put Heloise in A or S - she is extremely good. Her romance is probably the most well-made in the game as of now.

I can give my 2 nickels on this. Well for one, I don't think she's a threat. I won't say she's none of the things you called her. Nor do I think she's a 100% honest with us. But she is someone raised/groomed for a duty. That is hellbent on fulfilling that role. Only time I think she would try something. Is if we went full mad king and tried to burn the kingdom down. Now in my pursuit of knowledge and fuckery. I have betrayed her at I believe, every chance possible. Just to see what she would do. And the times she tried to fight back. Never came off like an actual fight or attempt at subjugation. Just trying to protect herself. When you toss her in the dungeon. She's not angry or anything. Just desperate to understand and try to make things right.
Plus there are the sex and general scenes with her. There's plenty of lovey words and affection to sway you.... but. We also have something else. The way the writers describe what happens. We as players don't need to put intent behind her actions. The writers already do it. She doesn't just look at you. She looks at you with love. She doesn't just rub her pregnant belly. She rubs it with affection. She doesn't just smile at your return. She's smiling while practically glowing. Not their exact words but you get what I mean. Granted... all it would take is an update to say she's the best actress in the world and it was all a lie. But until that happens. I'll just go by what I'm seeing and being told.

I am aware of the irony of me saying this, but I tried to explain my reasons.
See, I don't doubt anything you two are saying. Perhaps I came across as overly dismissive in my original post, but I found it funny, your honor!
Adeline as a character is great for all the reasons you two say, but I seriously don't trust her as a romantic interest. She loved the mc with all her heart even before he became the dragon, but still, due to her own sense of duty and her birthright, she did what she did. She's never mad at the dragon for throwing her in jail her because she sees it as a mistake. In her mind, that's the only possible way that could happen, because in her mind she did nothing to deserve it. She thinks every death in searching for the infernals to be worth. The sacrifice of her own beloved to be an honor. When she was imprisoned by Balthorne, her only hope being a newborn who couldn't even speak last time she saw it, she didn't fear once.
In a way, she's like Darja. She has this dream of being queen, and will distort reality in her mind to achieve that. So what if the dragon throws her in the dungeon to rot? He's just confused and will inevitably come to his senses and they can have their rule together as it was always meant to be. He can treat her like an abused housewife and she'll take it with pride.
She's earnest in her manipulations, her intrigue, her subterfuge. And that makes her more dangerous in my eyes. No villain is worse than that who thinks she's doing you a favor.
Unlike the usual princess archetype who waits in a tower for her story to happen, Adeline forced it to occur by her own hands by whatever means necessary, no matter how grave the cost. And that is a very cool character who'd be top tier had the list been about character and not quality of warm holes.
She's got a nice way of talking.

Yet, they are two very distinct characters. Granted, they are linked - born from Valzira, Malice tends to be whole less wholesome. It's cute to see your naga daughter playing boogaloo with Heloise, far less cute when she threatens her other mom option with suffering beyond measure. Guess she didn't like the attempt at her life, being pre-cognizant even while Valzira was busy with botching the abortion. Guess it hurt too, given how angry she is afterwards.
Yes, without Heloise Malice isn't as cutie of a pie as she could be.
Yet, they are two very distinct characters and Malice stands tall even without family dynamic involved. First, her interactions with practically anything is just sweet, second, she will act mostly the same if you father her with Valzira. It's not just Heloise thing (though Heloise makes it whole lot more wholesome) - Malice is cool either way: she is very curious little rascal of a child, she is endearingly sassy as a young woman and nearly each scene with her a treat.
That is said - IF YOU CONSORT HER MOM. On my last playthrough... Poor Mina! I am so very sorry! That scene gave me genuine creeps - when Mina suddenly called me daddy, cute wholesome moment with my ever busy consort turned into bizarre fever dream of her being peeled off Malice like a mask. Brrr! Hibby-jibbies are real and they live in naga's tummy!
And that is another reason why Malice is so cherished - she is one of few characters who can be genuinely scary if she wants to (something she picked from both parents) and bend the Bad Dragon over (the others are, naturally, lair masters - with exception of Mother, I don't think there are hostile options with her). Though Zizy, it turns out, can bend Bad Dragon over in a very different, futanaric way.
Malice, in many ways, is like Shrek: love and life on one hand, having layers on the other.
You can add to the list of her misdoings the fact that she is the reason the plot happens. To us, it may be cool, but put yourself into the shoes of some rando across the Realm... Yeah, she brought war and devastation on her land - and that is AT THE VERY BEST!!! The list of worsts includes total devastation of the realm, being subjugated by primordial forces beyond human comprehension, eternal super-tyranny, being subjugated by an evil warlock, occupation by savages and thugs, being subjugated by demons, declaring war on said demons that even dragon won't be able to win - and, to top it off, Apocalypse.
All because someone's sense of duty got no room for recourse and no room for plan B in case "self-proclamation of monarchy with no actual backing will fail". In practicality, Adeline spectacularly failed as a queen the moment Balthorne scoffed at her in the prologue. After that were weeks or even months of ever more grueling conflict that at best saw the very Realm she was supposed to protect turn into warzone and occupied - and, again, AT THE VERY BEST!!! At worst she killed everyone or worse.
What I, however, would like to refute, is the notion of her turning on us or hurting us. At every turn she is shown as caring, loving and supportive of us - and we being together IS her endgoal. There is nothing else besides! If you keep her in power, she wins her ultimate victory - that's IT.

can someone help me i downloded the game from first page but when i tried to play it it says i don't have the app on my pc to launch this game so i wanted to ask do i need steam or something to run it
Some of this is why I usually just throw her into the dungeon. To me she comes across as megalomanic delusional psychopath that won't stop at nothing to reestablish her family's rule which has been entirely founded on the might of the dragons. That is why her family's legitimacy was always foul, it is entirely founded on force and not even their own force but by virtue of someone elses force aka the dragons. That is why Balthorne, as scummy and inept as he is no doubt, was able to usurp her position in the first place and was maybe even right to do so because her legitimacy was none existent and her family's rule by nature tyrannical
Then as a solution to this she basically let's loose a new born dragon with all the consequences you have described at length and to her that is all totally fine and dandy. Who cares if thousands die or end up in enslavement? As long as Adaline gets her throne back she is happy. I might be a chaotic force of morally highly debatable standing that does what it wills with others but even I can recognize that Mina or Heloise wouldnt have to deal with any of this shit without Adeline kicking it of, no matter how much I personally profit from it or how pleasant I perceive that result to be.
This invalidates any sway she ever had aswell as any good will for her for that matter. Not only does she deliberately risk the ruination of the people she supposedly wants to rule but she also expects you, the dragon, to do all the dirty work for her and then she just expects to rule while having done jack shit to deserve it by any merit. It is also not like I as the dragon owe her any allegiance or loyalty for thrusting this existence upon me. (Honestly as far as rulership by merit goes Mina or Heloise have done and endured more to deserve it AND even bring valueable skills to the whole thing)
At the end Adeline is living in her own delusions of grandeur and in an Adeline x Dragon fantasy world completely detached from reality and the worst thing is that she always thinks she is doing the right thing for you and her. She has the ability to retroactively justify everything she does this way.
Giving someone like that any sort of authority over anything is not only foolish but also dangerous to everyone else around her and at the end of the day her motives are entirely self serving while doing virtually nothing to deserve it and I dont vibe with that at all. In fact handing her the satisfaction of this victory might be among the most "evil thriumps" scenarios I can imagine.

Since I just had this issue and it took me sleeping on it to figure it out, I will post it here. When you go to apply unren for the drm fix, remember to delete the unren bat file afterwords. The game will not run if it has a bat file in its folder.
