Would love to support the game but the possibility of my private bank selling info and getting me cancelled irl is not worth it (has happened to many people in my country). If steam/subscribe star start accepting crypto (monero) then definitely yes then.

I gotta admit spending months in anticipation for the chance to finally govern the realm only for it to all just apruptly end at the first court event, not gonna lie I am left feeling a bit empty.
Yeah I guess that's what happens when the hype/anticipation is too much but now they'll be dedicating a lot more towards Act V rather than on the side so to speak. I really enjoyed the initial scene with Malice and the planned petitioning system but wished we saw the entire chapter rather than just a part of it.

Yeah that's what I'm a bit confused about. I could have sworn that they were going to post essentially the entire Act V that might have minor tweaks or extra scenes added later. I thought that's why it was taking an entire year? A little disappointed that it's just a little bit of Act V.

I can get that sense of disappointment. Lot of talk and hype for it only to get so little. But, think of it this way, atleast we will be getting a progression of the story and see how things shape up fully over the course forseeable future. Personally I think the real reason we are getting such a small start is because there might be things already planned for but may need fine tuning or art that is yet to be done.

It feels weird to hear it called a small update. There might not feel like a lot, but during this update the game when from 716,505 words to 901,191 words.

An update of almost over 180K

I think the issue is that we are expecting more in terms of probable content and interactions, I think thats the thing. Like having everyone fleshed out and scenes and such. I think that was the take away with all the hype with Act 5. Instead, it's not the case. Not that it's bad per se, but for some it might seem disappointing.

To some extent, I feel it's due to just how branching the game is by Act V.

Sure, 180K is a lot, but given the fact it's spread over so many different narrative branches and conditionals, the 'viewable' amount of content is far smaller... assuming you only do the one playthrough, which given the relatively little time that has passed since 5.0.0 dropped (little less than 24 hours as of this posting) is probably what most people have done... if you don't just speed run stuff, but at that point you have yourself to blame for lack of content.

I will admit I'm kind of disappointed with the remove of the Naho content from the update, though I understand why they did it. Looking forward to it's implementation.

What you are describing is the feature creep: a design choice of including multiple of features (character paths in this case) that ultimately water down the whole game. It seems that devs decided to develop all character paths simultaneously, which lead to present situation that the main plot is neglected. Instead of deciding "let us leave Chanwe out until the main plot is done", all her variants will be included: her normal version, her corrupted version, and her Chutlu-version. Then there are all multi-character plotlines which further complicate the development, and naturally the numerous interaction bugs when all paths are developed at the same time.

For this reason despite more than a year of development, V5 had less than two hours playing material even with 200k new words. The real amount of new content is likely between 6-12 hours, but you won't notice it if you won't explore all paths. In this case the correct design choice would be finishing the main plot with one or two selected characters, and built the rest of the game around them, instead of all paths are built simultaneously, which is the most ineffective way of developing anything.

The successful steam-launch, a sudden injection of cash, and following expansion, may sound like a blessing but they have their own problems: when organization suddenly grows it also becomes harder to manage and easily spirals out of control. Now, don't get me wrong, I like this game but I won't see this game going anywhere in a long time. Not all projects are successful.

Let us hope I am wrong :poop: Happy new year!

You also have to realize that this is a porn game, story or not. The better choice to keep the most people interested in the game's content is to flesh it out with an even spread of these scenes to hit as many interests as possible. I would not call Ravager a game with porn, it is most definitely a porn game, however good its story ends up being. As such, it makes sense for them to have the priorities they're currently displaying, making sure every possible character has content instead of just running with one or two 'main' characters and then adding more in later. This isn't some mainstream indie game they're trying to pack up and ship in a timely manner, and we shouldn't expect it to operate on the same timeline or priorities.

There's also another problem with developing as you've stated, and it's how Ravager's staff crew is set up. Each character has their own writer, and rushing the game forward while only working on a few characters doesn't make those characters go any faster, it just means all the other writers get to sit and twiddle their thumbs. Ravager is more styled as a large collaborative project than other games like it usually are, so there'd be no real point to making half the staff do nothing.

I disagree with your view on the game and its porn, even if it could (and most likely was) created with that idea in mind. Not necessarily because the story is good, as you've pointed out, but because the general idea the game is excellently executed. This idea being the concept of having a MC who is the big bad dragon instead of the hero who slays it. Because that's ultimately the premise, and I believe that the porn merely enhances it, since it makes sense a dragon would start not only killing people, but raping them as well. Instead of the porn becoming it's main focus when one is trying to experiment the game as intended, or at least enjoying the concept as a whole and not just that part of it.

But I digress; even if I enjoy the game for its premise and how it's entailed, I'm aware that a large amount of people most likely just get the general idea of what's going on and try to get the scene of the girl they like as quick as possible. Hence, I agree with the fact that this being an adult game makes it so the main focus in development would naturally be to have as much of the girls' scenes and story made, however this is to satisfy as many users as possible, rather than the latter being the main focus of the game itself.

Or maybe I'm deceiving myself into believing this so I don't have in my conscious the fact that I've enjoyed so much a game that its main purpose is for me to jack off instead of genuinely experience it. But who cares anyways.
