Also at the time that body dropped from malice it was still recognizable enough as a body for "a neck" to be a thing, as well as a naked breast.
The evaporation happened later.

Although rollback is limited on how far back you can rollback. you need to reload instead, although within a choice occasionally rollback can help you map the sub option faster.
You can freely reload as many times as you want to map out the whole game though so this is academic.

But rollback does not magically poof away the problem.
The issue remains that this is a game that requires you to completely map it out, writing down every single possible gain for every single option in every single encounter. As well as the requirements for each subchoice in each such encounter.

Then once you have collected all that data, bust open a spreadsheet and path a perfect route through it.
The perfect route still includes you failing some things, just have to be failing unimportant things.
That is if Decathet was even being fully honest in his claims about he was able to path a perfect route that required zero waifu sacrifice (vore or sharing) and only failed checks that "don't matter"

Realistically though a new player won't map every single option and then bust out the spreadsheet.
You will start mapping it out and then the vast majority either look up the walkthrough and/or enable godmode instead.
I dare say I probably did more work mapping then most people in this thread before finally giving up as it was an utter waste of my time.

Therefore I am confident in saying this is a game that heavily depends on a walkthrough.
There should be a setting between godmode and hellmode. A normal mode if you would. Where most people could reasonably triumph without having to use a walkthrough / write their own walkthrough.

Very true. I have reran this game experimenting with which is the best scenario multiple times. However, due to the fact the game isn't complete I don't think there is a win everything option even in power fantasy mode. Granted you are very correct that this game might be more complex and sometimes you just can't win them all.

Not my cup of tea as I like trying to find the "perfect power fantasy story", but seems like it could be the case. I can't make the warlock my counsel member without sacrificing Val, which also means I can't help Darja. It's a catch 22 trade off right now. Problem is I like all the characters except the princess, so I only have one sacrifice to barter with. And with the outcome I found today as what happens with helping Darja, a new monster girl potential with the princess makes me not want to sacrifice her fully in the future too if I do end up helping Darja.

Another example, I can't befriend Naho without making her a sex slave pet. I mean, she seems to kind of dig it, but I might be misreading it.

the walkthrough lets you skip that labor.

If a skillless individual uses a walkthrough on this game on his first playthrough and adheres to the walkthrough he will get the best results on the first attempt. because there is no skill involved.

If that same unskilled individual tries to play dark souls with a walkthrough, he is going to die many times to the bosses until/unless he develops the skills necessary to execute the walkthrough's instructions.

Take the worlds most skilled gamers and let them play ravager. They will fail to achieve good results (all waifus acquired and safe. progressed on time. good results on conquest. etc) on their first attempt so long as they are not using walkthrough, because no amount of skill can help you when you are flying blind.

Instead, you have to do is pick between:
a. cheat with god mode
b. cheat with walkthrough
c. spent an extreme amount of time mapping all paths.

This game is simply a mapping chore.

I have to say that Ravager is a fucking amazing game but yeah, at no point does it interact in any way with 'skill'. It isn't unique in that regard, the vast majority of 'find your own path' porn games don't have any mechanical interaction involving player skill, they're just large webs of trial and error that can occasionally be predicted with a bit of critical thought. Ravager is not even one of those, you're gonna either use a guide to get to the content you want or use trial and error until you like what is happening. The vast majority of porn games in general do not involve any form of skill, it's unusual when they do.

Having said that, Ravager is not a particularly complex game. The trial and error you need to get what you want can be achieved within the span of an hour or two at most. Its web of choices really isn't that big and largely involves a bunch of fairly unrelated binary decisions, leaving it to be a fairly simple but enjoyable experience. It's good, but call it what it is.

I do also play on power fantasy mode though, as trying to balance all your stats and still get a good outcome is tedious and rather unfun. You get stretched very thin and it all just becomes a chore of gradual trial and error until you can squeeze out a path in which you get what you want without being forced to sacrifice something you don't want to. For a casual, shorter porn game, it just doesn't feel that optimized, and feels much more enjoyable when you can ignore that entire system.

Also, is there any incentive to let the cats go? Text suggests they feel genuinely grateful and might aid you further down the line, but I just dont see it.

Eating and fighting gives strength, non-agression is rewarded with charm, sex acts yield potency. No need for a walkthrough to spoonfeed you - its not that complex.
Like with any renpy, the only thing you really need is your mouse's scroller. Where the hell are you getting these "must-have walkthrough+godmode" notions from?

i know, he's either trolling or he's not seeing his folly. either way though if he actually stuck to the enjoyment of his game being 'ruined' he would've had a slightly cohesive argument. i almost wanted to agree with him about the dragon not being able to have more than a single queen being forced drama. but i know it's an inheritance issue as much as a who shall govern when the dragon's asleep kind of hierarchy thing. so even supposing more marriages happen later they will likely be nothing more than 'spare' queens with no or lesser authority. if the dragon is ok with, or unwittingly, with how common fighting for the throne is with inheritance in IRL history.

Hmmm... I don't think there would be much infighting with the queens (unless it's Adeline/Val). Heloise would certainly be a fitting queen, same with Malice, mainly with the logic of in anything were to happen, they could handle the matter quickly. As for the commoners... Mina would be better off as Steward. Cooch would be a poor queen, same with our loveable little short stack of a fan. Kittens? Troublesome at best, horriblesome at worst. Naho? Unless broken we're kinda in a long haul with her being a rebel in the midst.

Basically, yes.
Its not like I hate the game. Because at least they had the forethought to let you just opt out of the badly designed "game" part.
And like you said this is in no way shape or form a unique problem. Pointless grind as well as route mapping are both very common in the porn game industry.

I enjoy the game for what it is.
Good art to fap too with a story I enjoy. And I even like some characters.
