I think Darja's devouring scene is actually one of the two more brutal ones. Most of them, when you decide to eat them, it's just crunch and lights out, even if the actual eating takes more time. But Darja gets, well, the end that she does.

The twins are the other one that I think is brutal, but that's mostly because you kill and eat one of them and the other is right there, and knows she's next.

Terrible is the fact that until the last moments she thinks this is a part of her duties. It's just messed up, no good, rotten stuff.

The twins are the other one that I think is brutal, but that's mostly because you kill and eat one of them and the other is right there, and knows she's next.
Made even worse by the fact that the one who's forced to watch is Inej, the shier one. Maybe Sabetha had more courage to face her demise, but Inej just stares you down in terror.

Absolutely barbaric, won't do any on proper playthrough. Really, the more I play this game the more fades the allure of being a real mean monster it basically sells itself for. I am currently trying the run I envisioned as being true Sun-aligned dragon - selfish, extreme, powerhungry.

What do you know? The most benevolent run I had thus BY FAR. The Realm is flourishing, hordes and subjects are happy and I've discovered new appreciation of certain characters.

While we're on the subject, I'd like to know about the people who don't mind or those who enjoy these brutal scenes, what exactly do you like about them?
I wouldn't say I enjoy them, but I like them on an artistic level. They are well written, varied and... creative. Goes to show the writer cared about the premise of the game of being any kind of dragon you want, even if realistically very few would ever pick those options.
That or he's into guro, which is entirely possible.
EDIT: WriterS. Got curious after writing this post and decided to do some digging and find the one behind the slaughter. Turns out, it's a Julius Caesar type deal. I can't tell you who is really into cute girls getting brutally killed, but I can tell you that a man named Mattrex is responsible for Malice/Heloise and he is now my personal hero.

In unrelated news, the guy who usually brings the State Of The Realm newsletter skipped the last one in March. The SFX guy for the game passed away. RIP.

Surprise! Dragon story or not, such outright lean into guro side of the matter isn't that expected, IMO.

Contrast! Between that and kinder side of the story - and, oh boy, it's a sharp one.

Rawness! No punches pulled - a respectable dedication to storycrafting above presentability.

Valzira! I don't have to explain this point.

ChubbyFatBoy, King_In_Yellow, Regular4Channer. Gentlemen.

The last few days I was doing a new run of the game to test Valzira consort option. Naturally, Dragon's name was Valziradomesticator. Should have remembered to break the two words. Or add some number at the end to make it sound stupider.

Anyway, yesterday my test concluded when I ran out of game to explore. And I have things to tell you.

The general gist of the run was being selfish asshole - no Malice, pure alignment with Inferno, being Sun Dad's perfect scaly boy, etc. But as with Stelaris players trying to build the Imperium of Man only to fall into pacifist route and vise versa, so did I manage to turn my run into the kindest one I had by far. Hordes are happy, Realm is prospering, Pale Rock suffered no damage and harem's mostly happy. I have discovered new sides and my appreciation to many of the girls, and by far the only two downturns were Adeline and Chanwe.

1746099662335.png
I will begin with the latter, our dear Abbess. And I feel like I have to switch to my native language and its many memes because I need to be as expressive as possible.
1746097721534.png

Fuuuucking hecking fuck of fucks! She's nuts! That's not a Heresiarch, that's a sexier version of Florida Man high on dragon cum. Only instead of eating people's faces she's trying to make orgies everywhere she walks. She's no longer Chanwe, she's Goonwe! It goes so far into ridiculous cringe that even older faithful of the Sun are telling her: "Yo, sister, our faith does not work like that! That's glorified goon-session!". She literally knows zilch! Her only actual source is that old book made by Moon priestesses about 'horrors of the Sun faith' she used as mastrubatory supplement. Her other 'source' is - of course! - whatever she made the fuck up!

I have literally made a cum-brained gooner the leader of my church. FUCK!

My next playthrough she goes straaaaight into someone else's harem through being sacrificed. I am done with that crazy sex lady. It's not even cringy-funny - it's just cringy.

1746099768602.png
As for Adeline... You know, for whatever the reason I never tried to insult her before on our reunification. Never felt neither need, nor curiosity to do so - until now.

And she fucking tried to used Words of Power on me. Hours after being rescued from certain death. By me.

Nope, straight to the dungeon! Fuck you and your sorry-ass ambitions! Bachelordom for this dragon it is then! Since I haven't made Malice and I'm not siding with Malagar, there is literally zero queen options right now.

Also: currently, many dialogue checks in Act V are broken. You can trigger war with Infernals when they bunker-up on Malice route, Adeline will recall things she couldn't have witnessed because she was in the dungeon, etc. Nothing real bad - just silly stuff, IMO. But still, it is broken.

As for the good things I've discovered, there are many, actually.
1746099816990.png
First and foremost, M-Ann is an S-tier material. Sold herself with singing me a song and being overall nice to literally everyone. I have no idea why I walked past her before - she's solid. And a raging zoophile, which is a good thing in my goon-book.

There was literally no bad interactions with her - and there are tons of them!

1746099856413.png
Second, Cooch. Originally planned as sacrifice, but the heist with Mina? Couldn't force myself to throw such a buddy-buddy out after that. Also, the need to sacrifice her went away with time - I was doing great, the hordes got enough already and were in good fighting shape.

The heist in general is just phenomenal, both in itself and how much it boosts your treasury. Two scenes with the gals, lot of options, lots of utility - great stuff, really. The only downside is if you want more gold, you'll have to ditch Rhyll, which is a shame and it also limits your options in Act III through not giving you an extra week. Meaning that if you want to use the heist at maximum, you should plan ahead your steps carefuly, almost min-maxing the Third Act.

Anyway, the Cooch stayed. And gifted me with a lot of kobbies (or "sprogs" as she called them) - and an absolute banger of a scene in late Act V.

I have never laughed so hard playing this game before! Her brew, the reactions of guest - whoever wrote that deserves every praise and donation they can get. Pure cum-stained cinema. Kino, even! 'Cumbucha', lol. Shit, I'm still laughing my ass off recalling that scene.

Also: Cooch stutters when sober. The more you know! She keeps perfect pronunciation when drunk - it's just her pronunciation is a crime against language as it is.

1746099888722.png
Darja was a lot cooler than I thought she would be. I HATE Adoring Fan/Mad types of characters. With passion too!

It was a real surprise when she turned out as good as she did. Yes, she shares the number braincells with a very passionate brick. And she's hella annoying - but what I discovered is that she was kinda annoying in silly-funny way. When I gave her enough attention, she revealed to be very passionate and straightforwards and also very kind. She just wanted to make people happy - and you double-happy.

She was silly saying this - but also sincere. And it's hard not to feel well for her. Shame she fell into second seat role because I didn't chose her uncle and couldn't meaningfully progress her story. Also, for some reason I really hesitated putting kobols into her - feels like she may deserved more. A proper royal treatment.

I am definitely trying full-on Malagar route next. While my curiosity with her and disdain for Adeline are high.

Now, for the reason I've made this run - The Most Purple of All Pet Cacti.
1746100683447.png
Yes. She's a consort option through and through - but only after Breaker treatment. And there are TONS of stuff with her - I think, only Heloise has more.

And she's just the bitch she always were. Everything you do she will comment in the most condescending and offensive way possible. Every word's a jab, every expression is disappointment, hatred or anger and every night and every morning she greets you with them, wishing you a multitude of painful untimely expirations.

That's some of the most hilarious things in this game, period. Patting her on the head while she seethes is an option, yes.

Give it a try. I won't spoil more - that shit's gooood! Only shame you can't keep her as a consort in Act V. Feels like you should be able too, especially if you stay unmarried, but you can't. Shame!

On smaller miscellaneous notes.

Couldn't trigger loyal Maelys route no matter what I do. That's my second try, I tried myself, tried the manual - no idea what's wrong. She just sits there all sad and does not recognize my attempts to make her happier.

Countess Mina is a blast. Not only her interactions are awesome, she is a walking boon. Treat her well and you'll have 1 extra treasure upon recruiting her, heist quest that gives you up to 3 treasures and +1 Realm stability in Act V. Give her the dress, do not overstep your deals with her and how she prefers to pleasure you and you'll have a loyal effective ally through most of the game.

Gave Bad Dragon Ziz cock treatment again. Sweet and hilarious to see such domineering creature being dominated into a squirming bottom.

Those new gals in Act V you meet during Cooch brew shenanigan are lotta cute. Hope we'll see more of them.

Edit: The Infernals are absolutely fucking terrifying. I don't know who wrote them, but that guy (gal? inbetween or aside?) deserves a pay rise.
1746102041046.png
That's the spirit of Slaaneshi demons uncut made into descriptions, as if GW wasn't too shy and PG to show what true terror of unrestrained passion looks like. They twist, pervert, corrupt, destroy - and worst of all, have a method to their madness. Nothing is random. Everything is a cog in Sun's Desiring Machine. Forms are temporary. Status is earned to be lost and re-taken. Everything is a game and a competition and a revelry and a torture each. Everything blends, everything is fluid, everything is at its peak and its apex. They don't just do extremes - they do all the extremes simultaneously in an eldritch spectacle of emotional and sensational purity. Dancing to Sun's eternal beat on a war-party that never truly ends, that goes within and without, among and between, above and below. They curse with blessings and bless with curses. They are divinely mortifying blend of mind's intricacy and natures raw power.

You can only invite them - but it is they who decide when to leave and what to leave of you. And when they do, you will be screaming in joy and suffering at once, for the Sun treats extremes equally. If the world is a circle, the Moon is the inside of it, the Sun is its edge. Things set and stable and things that deny stability on fundamental level.

I rarely meet such vivid and great descriptions that portray otherworldly as simultaneously comprehensive, if barely, if just enough to send a shiver - and completely alien. Both absolutely inhuman and uncomfortably humane.

And that's probably the same. Will add some bits if I recall anything else.

The run was smoother and much kinder than I expected, the goals were met, new appreciations acquired - what's not to love?

One question is: is it possible to have Abbess in a middle ground, how to make her still believe in the goddess but believe that our dragon is an exception or make her believe that the moon goddess and the sun god can come to an agreement? I like her before the corruption but the screen against me is kind of complicated.

Wait, you were on the Infernals route, yet you didn't sacrifice Darja to the Infernals? You missed a chance to fulfill her dreams in one way.

That's what I'm saying! Adeline is worst girl. It is now proven that the Venn diagram of people who think she is a bitch and people who explored the game's options is a perfect circle.

The trick to peak Abbess is this, funnily enough:

If you don't challenge her beliefs and let the realm have religious freedom, as king, you can visit one of her sermons where she gets ganged up on by some Sun faithfuls and you shut them down via sexy fun with Chanwe. It leads to a very sweet moment between the Abbess and the Dragon.

Oh, I know that option - tried it a few times already. I guess I wanted something sweeter for her for a change. And after realizing she's actually sweet, I don't know if I'm gonna do it again. Probably will, but I am not certain.

That's what I'm saying! Adeline is worst girl. It is now proven that the Venn diagram of people who think she is a bitch and people who explored the game's options is a perfect circle.
Well, let's give her credit when credit is dues: she's willful, dutiful in a way and if you do not clash with her, she will be a pillar of your rule - to fulfill her designs, but still. In fact, it's actually hard to antagonize her - and, logically, it's VERY stupid thing to do if you do not run with Malagar. Or you just give no fucks and run with Malice. It also makes perfect sense why she's so aggressive in that scene - she pours her heart out for you and you just spit there. No shit, Sherlock, that he snaps that moment.

But yes - she's prime candidate for being the worst. That attack against my Bad Dragon was very uncalled for and just VERY stupid.

Also, you can impregnate her and then eat her. No idea why eating option is still present with her pregnant. That's vile and EXTREMELY, ABSURDLY stupid. That option should probably be removed once you knock her up.

Thank you. Honestly - I had no idea to even try that option. For some reason never registered in my head to try her faithful route with religious freedom. All the more reason to try Malagar then! At least our warlock dearest does not care for the metaphysics, unlike the other lair chiefs. I mean - I think you do not have to honor Protean faith if you run with Mother, it's just Infernals who are very obsessed with their holy war and such. But still - it feels like you are supposed to do it, so I still do it regardless of requirements. With Malagar, however, religious aspect is your free game fair and square.

Speaking of which! I wanted religious freedom. Problem is - Ziz didn't. You probably figured it out already, but pissing off ancient demons is a bad move. Turns out dragons aren't immune to hellfire. And while Zizeryx does call you 'Brother dearest', its waaaay more powerful than you are.

You know what's funny though? You can still visit Zizeryx after you piss her off. And she acts as if nothing happened.

That part is incredibly unfinished.

As for Heresiarch Chanwe - honestly, I didn't think it could go that silly-cringy bad. My expectations for cringe were exceeded.

While we're on the subject, I'd like to know about the people who don't mind or those who enjoy these brutal scenes, what exactly do you like about them?
I don't fall into either enjoy or like. I'm a don't mind person, as in I don't mind if it exists. Not really my cup of tea but eh. However, if I do engage in the fuckery. It's purely out of curiosity. I don't take joy in any of it. My archetype by default is magnanimous. Can't help it and no. It has yet to bore me.

But sometimes a lot of times now. I just can't help but wonder the what, how, and why something happens. I have a level of curiosity that borders on self abuse. Has only gotten worse thanks to discovering renpy games. And the most glorious invention to grace this mortal plane! Rollback! It just eggs me on to find out once I'm curious. Or at the very least. Learn/see enough to sate it.

Well, if you're on the Infernals route then you might as well turn her into a dragon girl, since otherwise she's not getting anything apart from kobolds.

The Proteans route is even worse. Just a dead end for her.

Malagar's route is naturally the best choice for her. It's the only route where she can actually become a queen after all (and give birth to something else than kobolds). And if you hated Adeline before for trying to use Words of Power on you, then you'll find Malagar's retort to her to be very cathartic.

You do. Kinda bad game design that two of the three mandatory choices for the special hordes are in a single set, makes 'em feel samey. Funnily enough, Mother doesn't care what you do with the aberrations. Maybe they could've put the deciding factor there, but then you have the problem of a player just not fucking Malice into existence and then they've got the special horde for free.
Still, why would an eldritch being who is older than reality as we know it care so much what some hairless monkeys believe? That stuff feels like it should be important to her dumb children who feud all the time, not her.

If anyone can tell me how to get this working with JoiPlay on Android again, I'd love to continue from my old saves, this game is a pain in the ass to get running now
You just need the most up to date public joiplay and renpy plugin which should be like version 8.33 or the game will crash on startup, look up their patreon to grab it. Follow the drm instructions and it will work just fine. If you need to unren the game use winlator. There is a wee annoying bug with this version of the renpy plugin that makes using the keyboard crash the game. So you will need to not type anything and copy whatever you need to type in the game to your clipboard and paste it. Even that can sometimes crash the game and you'll have to try a few times before it works so just save during those moments.
Also if you get an error starting up ignoring it should let the game run normally at least it worked for me.
