Really? I'm also on the latest update, try renpy plugin 8.23 and see if that one works. Some games are more stable on older versions of joiplay and I installed multiple versions when testing, it probably defaulted to the most stable one and I mistook it for the latest version.

I'm a little confused. Is the game complete now? On itch.io there is no version update changelog notes anymore.
The game is still in progress, but is no longer being sold via Itch.
Oohh. Yeah. Wasn't there some kind of drama or something between the developers and itch.io at some point? I'm very sorry. I am definitely out of the loop and don't remember much. It's been a very very long time for me.

It depends on what you count as "barely provoked". If "You disgust me" bears implication of immediate rejection of her whole plan, I've missed that implication. To me it was a personal statement, nothing more - and yet she reacted in a way that threatened me.
I can get why she's like that. And I admit that in literally every other option she will be 100% supportive figure to you. And I also admit that just telling her to piss off is very unreasonable, and her retort, if anything, mirrors you idiocy.
It's just the extent of her retort, for me, came as if out of nowhere. It is aggressive, stupid and is an open hostility towards her superior on whom she and her plans depend on.
I know that's her shtick - she's willful and temperamental. She may be of royal pedigree and have a great degree of self-control, but if she snaps she would do it very thoroughly. As in: "I WILL rule and nothing will stop me!" or "I WILL punish your bad mouth, whatever it takes!".
However, what I expected was her becoming very upset and frantically trying to win you over. Not trying to pull an attack of improbable chance of success on you.
That was fucking stupid - and stupidity was basically one thing that I wouldn't have expected of her!
Though she's still cool on other routes. I mean - her being my prime candidate for the worst girl may've set some false alarms, but it's not what it seems like. Her great downside isn't that she tries to Power Word you (it is triggered by ONE option! with other girls it's usually one option that works, not the other way around), it's that she's quite one-dimensional with her obsession with royal duties. There's no doubts, no growth - she's on the grindset, which is fitting her status as Sun-follower and a princess.
But still, it leaves her with little options in the story.

Yes, absolutely. You just have to make her happy: recruit her peacefully, do not overstep the boundaries she erects - 'no' means 'NO!' - and gift the dress to her.
She's a good consort option as well as great partner in general. If you treat her as nice as possible and promise to make her a countess, you will have boosted kingdom economy after conquest, 1 treasure upon recruiting her and 0-3 treasures on her quest (that sadly blocks mercenaries as horde option if you choose max output).

Yeah nothing I've tried is working and now the download links are all broken, I actually have no idea what's going on. I did notice that the UnRen was unable to unpack literally anything because it apparently couldn't find the files, any idea what that's about?
That can't be the issue cause mine did the same thing and still works fine. Is your joiplay app itself the newest version or are you just grabbing the renpy plugins?

I grabbed mine from this post. That would be my next guess.You can try it if you want the environment I used. I'm not sure what the issue is but I can at least walk you through the exact things I did in order and see if there were any discrepancies between us perhaps.
I put the unren in the game folder, ran it through winlator and did all the options, then added the rpy files and replaced the exe with the drm fix ones and then added it to joiplay. My installed plugins for renpy are 8.2.3, 8.3.3, and 7.4.11. And my joiplay version is the one from that post.
