If you don't have the hordes, you'll miss out on several events, intentions, and, of course, the characters in those hordes. Plus, if you have positive points, they'll help you storm the castle if you don't have the necessary stats (in some Act 5 events, you still earn points with them, so you'll probably still need them later).
From what I saw of Act V, the events seem pretty hit and miss. At least the Wolf Horde often was a trade-off with no outright advantageous choice. Storming the Castle was also not too hard, there's only a couple checks I don't usually have the stats for, and unfortunately they're not ones the Wolves or Mercs can help with. Good point on possibly needing them later though, there was definitely a feel that we want to be as prepared as possible for the epilogue, once it's released.
If I remember correctly, there is exactly one scene in which this happens and it is in the invasion of the castle if the demons have enough power and it is not with a "man" but with our dragon.
There is such scene. It happens after capital city conquest if you decide to visit your infernal allies and give a try to Zizeryx' proposition.
It's honestly a pretty lame scene as well. You don't even really see anything.

I mean to be fair. Both Adeline and Valzira could bitch us out. And some interactions with Val has her taking our lunch money. But you know..... now that I think about it. That whole power they have could've been very kinky
. Like imagine if Val wasn't so shoot first, then shoot again before asking questions later towards us. Her insulting you and then commanding you to put that tongue to better use instead of talking.
Men are universally far more violent and powerful than women, yet dudes will give up their morals all the time like:
human men yes. but let's have a woman try on a silverback, or a lion, or a wolf. you shouldn't put the expectations or the mindset of a human on non human males.
considering what they did was specifically made to be used on dragons. i'm pretty sure the mc would most likely find away to nullify that so it couldn't be used to kill him incase of a mutiny or a traitor hire's a assassin. so that wouldn't be much use after that.I mean to be fair.
