There is a way to give constructive criticism and feedback. Basing your comment on this being a game was incorrect from the start.

Perhaps if you want your critisizm to be considered, try not to phrase it in a way that devs get tired of seeing on f95.
Otherwise this feedback comes across as rude, and puts devs on the offensive because of all of the other bullshit thrown at them on this forum.

I welcome feedback. Not insults. Or feedback clouded by insults.
The feature was requested by a number of people. How is it a waste of time?

Apologies for biting your head off, but the feedback didn't come across that way.
First of all I would like to congratulate you for this good novel so far. The story and writing is engaging enough for my tastes.

I'm not an avid forum reader mostly because I get a bit annoyed with the "occasional flaming and drama" that usually populates forums where there is the subjectiveness of opinion/tastes, but some go too far and I don't feed the trolls but that doesn't mean I don't get the impulse to do so, only human here haha Can imagine being in the developers shoes since it is like almost hurting your creation/"child".

So all that was just to say I didn't check your background as a creator/developer/person but (speculating a bit) I think you have the right approach for your first(?) AVN. Most developers here aren't genius coders, they usually like to write stories or render/animate images and they have their own lives/job outside the game, but most start their games "eating more than can chew" doing too complex choice based games that require much more care on how it is coded and written and that also takes the time they should have to move their story/plot and refining their rendering/animation/writing/coding etc skills with the time they have available to, that leads for many developer burnouts, unfortunately.

So (still speculating) this approach of doing arc 1/act1 introduction a kinetic novel is a good choice (pun intended), I know that many loathe not being in control of some aspects of where the story/tastes/kinks leads but if there is a good disclaimer/synopsis/tags of what the AVN is all about it shouldn't be a problem and besides that there is passive content choices in the content options menu.
There is good kinetic novels and I mostly first search for a good story to read/visualize about and your game is my top1 in kinetic AVN here in this site for sure. To enter my top games list (my sig) probably just need a bit more content and refining of your developing skills, I guess you understand that the bar set by me is high with those games hehe but for sure Ravenous is in my top15 AVNs, also most there are sci-fi and i'm a sucker for sci-fi, but fantasy is my 2nd favorite genre and Ravenous fits the category.

So the choice to move for choices in arc 2 and even more for arc 3 is very smart, you probably now have much more experience doing the dev work and can plan and organize this much better than when you started it. Also loved the idea of putting some of the arc 1 lewds in arc2 gallery a smart move, maybe it only need later (my 2 cents) just a longer recap of arc 1 into the start of arc 2 just to be even more standalone(ish) for those who prefer arc 2 choice approach but are lazy to play all the arc 1. But that can be done much later, just a small touch to make it even better.

So keep the good work LamentEntertainment, going for sure follow this AVN with care but no worries, I'm very patient and quality takes times so keep your focus and don't rush things, just keep doing what you wanna do in your project absorbing all the constructive feedback you can.

I just can't get past the "plot". Like, why aren't they murdering the evil old bastard lord of the vampires? Or at least burning all the murder manikins. He's just "Yeah, I was delivering wooden slaughter golems and they nearly killed the mouthy kid I was with but let's not mention that to anyone. Maybe I'll slightly raise my voice to him in a cafe later. That will show him."

That's just one of the many plot holes and the whole story is like Swiss cheese full of them. For all that "story first" narrative.

I still don't understand why people are still hanging around in threads of games that they dont like. lol. Is it to help reinforce the bashing?

Seriously, just move along if u don't like a game. Why feed the toxicity?

So, you only accept warm water and patting on the back? I've noticed that ;)

Do you seriously believe that every game thread shall be like a schoolgirls' fan club?

There are ways to give criticism without being rude or obnoxious or negatively sarcastic and that is the best way to give feedback and "force" the dev to see their flaws and eventually get better at it, no need to be a "cheerleader" just give your 2 cents on what you feel is wrong (and/or right) and move along but try being fair, maybe pointing out also what is well done? That is all LamentEntertainment said plenty of times but one only have their own limit on what they can take.
Those kind of comments only serve for more people to pile up on them and turn the thread into a bashing/flaming/trolling on 1 side and fans of it getting annoyed on the other side. How do you expect for any developer improve when their creation is treated that way constantly? How would you feel? Does people in this world still try to put in other people shoes? Well maybe I'm old (49yo) and still naive and utopic by expecting for people to be better lmao (Edit: I'm laughing at myself in case you wonder) and nitpicking on those things in a fantasy (or sci-fi) novel well is baffling imho

First of all. I really like this game. Characters are sweet and nice and the story builds, at least for me, in a good pace. So no need for writing critics on this thread. I am not allowed to name other games but I think on this site, and most of you know what I mean, who are far more toxic and acid to follow.

What I want to say to the dev is to let his fuse grow a little longer. He is rather fast in the attack mode when people start bashing in his opinion. Just go with the flow and do your thing making a good game here. I am sure your life will be easier to live.

I have quite a long fuse, it has been burning for the last year and a half.

You are incorrect in your assumption. I accept criticism . I have said that many times.
Once somebody makes a point, there is no need to keep hammering on it.
Sarcasm, and insults are NOT an acceptable form of criticism.
If you dont like the game, story, whatever, then say so. After you say so, there really isn't any reason to hang around in a thread unless you are actually LOOKING for an opportunity to flame-on. That's all I'm saying.
There are plenty of people on this forum that just dgaf that the dev of a game is an actual person, and not just words in a box on a computer screen.

I think that's the sad reality. Angry people who are mostly invisible IRL can get a false sense of power by trolling threads for games with lots of fans because someone will almost always take the bait.

It's hard to ignore the urge to defend things you like because unconsciously it feels like a personal attack (i.e., I like this, so you saying it is bad means I am wrong or have bad taste). But the Ignore option makes life a lot easier. I have definitely found my enjoyment of this site has improved dramatically since I started ignoring one poster in particular who is always crapping on everything and everyone and inserting himself into other peoples' conversations.

Uh, yeah. My fuse is super long too. :censored:

just give your 2 cents on what you feel is wrong
Isn't it what I did as well as Anon21 who commented before me. But if you read through this thread you will see that the Dev always responses to criticism and always in a negative way.
I don't blame him for that, may be he will understand one day as he grows older and wiser that trying to understand the point of those who give him feedback (even if it's a negative one) is the way to learn not the way to fight.

You are incorrect in your assumption. I accept criticism . I have said that many times.
You may say that, but you act differently. I've read through this thread, I can see it.

If you dont like the game, story, whatever, then say so.
I may not like some aspects of your game and I may like other parts of the game. Don't you consider that possibility? Is everything just black and white for you? There are some games that I detest, I just forget about their existence. Your game certainly has some positive sides. That's why I'm still here. :HideThePain:

I'm also rather critical about some other Devs' games (which I nevertheless still like for some other aspects) and no one else reacts in this way: "You don't like my game, you'd better leave this thread". As I said, It's fortunately not a fan club, it's a place for discussion and exchange of opinions.

I think its in the office window when u first see the motel in that update
Just to make sure I've remembered what I've seen previously: the image thing is an Arc 2 development, not something that was also in Arc 1, correct? Juggling too many VNs in my head and I was just playing one that had convoluted achievements and text images that you may or may not get based on how you did things. Pretty serious spaghetti tangle.

And, while I do enjoy that style VN quite a bit, I enjoy a straightforward story as well. Just as I like some variety in my normal reading, I also like it in my VNs.

That's also my case. For me an AVN is first of all a novel, a story with pictures. I don't like replaying a game a hundred times to get some certain achievements or scenes.
So, here is what I do like about this game being a kinetic novel and not trying to waste my time for various paths and ending.
That's also why I'm so critical about the plots in the games. I would choose a good, clean and clear story over good graphics in a game any time. Still, the graphics are important and in this game they're clearly above the average.

Ravenous: Arc 2-Ep.2 is now available the public

Sorry this release was a few days behind schedule. Personal issues, etc.

I would, like to remind everyone that i need these first few episodes to get the ball rolling.
That being said, episode 3 will probably take longer than the typical release.
I have a certain scene to cater to, involving animations, that will take some time.
I would like to do it right, so i don't want to rush.

Thanks again to everyone for your patience and support.
