in the OP and match the version number.I'm currently talking to a guy who says he wants to translate the game into Chinese, but I sincerely believe that the game is fundamentally untranslatable due to how I've coded its text substitution.Awkward question, are there no plans to translate the game ?
This is a particularly egregious example, but the game has several dozens (if not hundreds) of line variants based on piecemeal swapping of words and phrases.
English has a different syntax than most of the world's languages (being

). I could sort of see this game hypothetically getting an unofficial translation in another SVO language, but it'd require an utterly enormous amount of work with much of the code needing fixing for a game that isn't even finished yet and which could change large swathes of its text, thereby requiring re-translation.In terms of "no plans" to translate the game ever... I'm highly skeptical that it could be done to a sufficient standard, but given that I refuse to use shitty machine or AI translation, I'd need someone who is both a translator and fluent in Python in addition to their other languages. Just a professional translator's lowball rate of $0.13 cents a word, just what is in the visual novel now would cost upwards of $65,000 to translate at a minimum, to say nothing of the fact that the more specialized work with having to adjust the code would skyrocket that price.
