Ever heard this before "If it looks and quacks like a duck, but you deny it is duck until you, yourself see the duck" being blind and deaf to issue or situation doesn't make said issue or situation go away. Another words not everyone in the populous needs to, neither see nor hear the duck for the duck to be believed as a duck or the mere existent of the duck as being can be colloquial agreed upon.

I really don't know this duck and can't judge him as frog, but what I do know is burnout rate is really high (like looking down on the Thermosphere high) for software development studios run by less than 5 people cause there is so much to be done and not enough people to be doing it.
