I beg to differ. Lets take a easy example: Lord of the rings. If you read the books, it was your own imagination and fantasy that helped you along on the journey. Now later when the movies came out, not the same right? Even the movies was good at some extent. Books is as immersive as your own imagination and fantasy bring you. Then again books seems to be a thing of the past in this day and age...I also think, when it comes to NTR, there is some difference between games and mangas or animes. Movies and books are far less immersive than games, after all there is no "I" in books and movies, while in games the player often more strongly identifies with his character. So, while NTR in movies may also appael to sadists who like to see someone suffer, in games masochism is a requirement to enjoy NTR - and NTR in games is certainly even more disturbing to an average person than in movies. Personally though I wouldn't let either an NTR movie nor an NTR game anywhere near my harddisk.
I still find it interesting, that this is the one kind of fetish that is so universally reviled. After all, this is a forum about games that focus on blackmailing your mother into sexual submission, building a harem of slaves, sex with wild furry creatures or tentacles and other stuff most people would consider utterly weird perversions. So, while I certainly cannot understand why somebody would enjoy NTR, I also think, those few people who do deserve some more tolerance.
as for the whole NTR thing, everyone have their own fetish's and things they get their jollies off too. What I really hate is when people start impose their own fetish onto others, or try to get the narrative in games etc changed to fit their own desire. Rather than just find a game that already does. I believe creators of games, (or whatever else), make the best results when they create what they set out to do (even it would pitch you up against someone like Eric in BB, as if you don't like it find something else to play).
Why people/Players object to the whole NTR thing is rather easy imho. Even maybe a bad example, imagine being in love with someone (or got strong feelings for) the person already got someone else, and you watch them on a daily basis express those feelings for each other.
If you look at a incest story/theme. Take a character that got strong feelings for his mother as example, and then there is already a father in the picture. The characters desire/lust or whatever in regard of his mother, and the likelyhood of any will come to happen is next to none... unless... The dad character get outplayed/alienated and you create such a divide between the father and mother, so the mother start lean on you. So you end up break something down to rebuild on. The end result wouldn't be the great "true" romance the reader/player set out to achieve but it would be what seems possible if NTR is a part of the narrative. Now, transfer such a story into like a game, would just end up a game not many would play due to the "show me the boobs already, and NOT ENOUGH BOOBS!!". Harem games just make for bad incest games imho. To many characters water down the story. Restrict it to the important characters, and even the chance of you as the character in the story have siblings, you wouldn't necessary want to bone them as well if you got a desire for the mom character. It would be more valid that you would get them removed as obstacles to achieve your goal. (and in the chance the sibling been a brother, you most likely wouldn't want to share...).
crap that came out as a lot of rambling
