Is cousin love considered incest? Because if it is... I'm an incestuous fucker.

Me and my cousin used to "enjoy" our time together during our youth... A lot.

And tbh, I think the most "realistic" while still "safe" approach to it would be cousins.

Besides, I think the word OP was looking for was "believable".

It depends who you ask: scientists, religious people or porn game developers.
As far as genetics goes, there is certainly enough similarity between cousin, that is considers harmful when cousins breed, though cousin marriage is legal in large parts of the world.
Religious fundamentalists really seem to love cousin marriage and consider cousins breeding with each other a virtue rather than a vice or taboo.
Western society at large views relationships between cousin as a taboo. At least here in Europe most people consider it unacceptable. If it happens, people usually tell it to their closest friends where they can be sure, they tell no one else.

As far as porn goes, I think it is still not taboo enough to be a special fetish or a "real" incest game or movie. Not because it is something people would find ok in real life, but because in a list with 40 games, where you fuck your mother in 25, your sister in 7, your daughter in another 7, the one game where you fuck your cousin, seems almost innocent in comparison.

It's impossible outside of long lost relative stories. Why? The 18 years old restriction. If the relatives lived together, why wouldn't the attraction start much earlier? It's not something you can do in porn well due to restrictions. Maybe in a medium like books you could. Restrictions have their purpose, but it kind of also creates this shared delusion in society that no one mid-teens is capable of being sexually attractive. A soon as midnight strikes on a girl's 18th birthday, only then does anybody in the house notice she's a looker?

I think this clip sums up reality of the situation best:

the same unrealistic plot of two people eventually jumping each other upon discovering the other had interesting body parts.
That at least works on a classic sitcom trope, it's the "Who's the Boss?" principle. See each other naked on TV, you'll be an item. Almost all porn is in some weird dopey alternate universe anyway, there is no realism. Anybody ever notice how all these fucking games have some weird "order of operations" thing going on with sex? You can't have one sex act unless you've checked all the boxes for kissing, groping, etc. And 99% of these fucking games get cancelled before it goes anywhere.

On to topic of realistic, have any one of you seen the movie Old Boys?
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

If someone was to make a game following some of these points, wouldn't this be consider a realistic approach?

Problem with transfer a realistic, or at least a good believe able incest story from text/paper into a game. Is the consumer/player at great extent. If you take a look at a few of the "slow progress" incest themed games at this site, they suffer from players just want to go shortest route to fap.

In the days of Usnet, you could find a lot of gems in the regard of adult stories, quite often ones with incest themes too. A lot of this still preserved at sites such as a lot of this could easily been adopted to games, the question is would the consumer actually be interested?

Imho the best porn, or at least adult oriented material is the one your brain need to process and you use your own imagination. Something I think to a large degree is lost today due to the "in your face porn".

The background for a good incest story need to be based on, if not feelings, at least something that bond the characters together. Life changing experiences, or just people bonding together, emotions, guilt and so forth. There is of course those that into the whole rape and force yourself upon someone fantasy, but that just to dark for me.

What I've come to realize, since the start of the thread, is that the best way to write a "believable" incest story is to focus on developing your characters.

It isn't about orchestrating the perfect scene, but creating characters that are relatable. If we can convince the reader/player that the mother is some brain-damaged nymphomaniac, then it is entirely plausible for her to jump her son upon discovering he has working man parts.

Build depth into your characters and let them show you what it would take to cross that incest line.

I don't think people would actually want a realistic or believable incest story in a porn game. Off the top of my head, I can think of quite a few great movies with realistic portrayals of incest, though I'd hardly consider them "flappable" (granted, I don't have a incest fetish).

From great to slightly less great:

The War Zone (starring a young Tilda Swinton)

The Celebration (original title: Festen)

Dogtooth (black comedy at its best)

The Last Days of Emma Blank (the Dutch response to Dogtooth)

Lolita (probably one of the most unnerving intros in film history)

Jude (starring a young Kate Winslet)

Shame (incest is only implied in this one)

Mr. Nobody (probably the only kind of incest most people would be ok rooting for: boy meets step sister in their late teens and falls in love at first sight)

Point is, "realistic" or even "believable" incest would almost necessarily be extremely dark. Incest is forbidden for questions about consent as much as for biological reasons. It should be no surprise that a "romantic" incest plot has the verisimilitude of a Vietman War story that strips away the violence and carnage, leaving only a tale about adventurous Americans making their way across the exotic landscape. To paraphrase a line from the amazing Netflix series GLOW, "people here don't actually want the thing they think they want."

I think the controversy about the taboo of incest is as old as oedipus itself. If you look at old Roman society, and sexual depravity, incest was not really a foreign concept. Not really shun upon but still an violation of religious purity.

There is places in the world today where incest is if not common, but a part of the society. How people view incest is a product of their upbringing and the norms of the society you grow up in. Example, if you grew up in a place where incest and sex between family members was an common thing you wouldn't look at it as wrong or terrible.

The concept of have feelings, lust and desire for family members need to be accompanied by shame and guilt as well for a good story. It's very hard to make a romantic incest plot without. A short story won't really do, and that is why so many games with a incest theme fall short imho.

Incest between parents and their children was a universal taboo in all cultures throughout history - you see that if you look closely on the Oedipus story too. Incest between siblings was a religious commandment at least in some society (e.g. for the Pharao in Egypt).

- So theoretically and if you like bro-sis games, you could make a game set in ancient Egypt, where you play as a Pharao who marries his sister.
- Not quite realistic, but at least plausible in the context of the setting: Relatives in a post-apocalyptic setting, who are (or think they are) the human beings on the planet. This means: Fuck your mom or humanity is doomed.
- Lost on a lonely island: Relatives lost in some place far away from other human beings.
- But after all, for a truely realistic games it all comes down to people who don't know they are related, at least if you exclude non-consentual scenarios such as blackmail (Son finds out, mom makes some bucks as prostitute and takes advantage of her...)

The most remotly close incest story is probably dual family, dark depressing, no fun to fap to ang generally no fun. But IT has a semi believable plot

They suffer from never being completed. Look how few complete Patreon games are on this site. Most completed games suffer from rushed, abrupt endings. I don't think it's unreasonable to want a focused game with a few characters at most. "Slow progress" games can be made in a shorter time frame if they focused on writing and developing the characters and not rendering images of a bunch of girls you'll never end up hooking up with before the author loses interest.

As much as I love DMD, it wasted time rendering images of the daughter get her shirt wet or tripping onto your dick in early updates and subsequently piled on extra characters, with some updates having little development with the daughter at all. Now look where all that feet dragging landed it.

And nothing breaks immersion more than "order of operations." I don't know why people have fucking OCD about all sex actions going in a certain order. Nobody has ever had a date say "We can't make out because you didn't press the button to caress my hair. I'll be ready for kissing in an update 8 months from now." It's like the girls are robots programmed by people who've never met another human.

I red not long ago a Story (I think it was on literotica) about a man meeting a girl on the street and so on. Slept with her, sex and so on. It turned out, that it was his daughter. The mother of the daughter left him, when they were teenagers and she never told him that she was pregnant. They found out after some time, were confused for quite some time, but they did it again. The writer claimed, that this was a real story, him as the dad. The story sounded truly believable.

But I don´t think, that the mayority in this forum want to have this plot twist (especially when they arent into incest) without knowing from the beginning that the genre includes it.

Does anyone know, how long this takes, until whe are off with the trend incest? I´m still waiting for "conquer older cheating wifes" to take over  Still haven´t had the opportunity to seduce an older woman in real life :'(

There was an incest trend in AIF games back when text games first appeared that lasted quite a while, but when it ended, so did the glut of games being released.

Personally, I don't mind it sticking around awhile longer, because what seems to be replacing it is even weirder: gay, transformation, traps, furry, plant/alien/animal porn...

As a general rule, these fetishes tend to go harder; so hoping for simple MILF action to be the next trend may be a pipe dream.

Its not like every adult game is incest themed. There is room for all kinds. Just look at adult (porn, whatever) entertainment in general, its a lot of diversity.

The lack of non-violent, abusive incest movies is a sign of our cultural rejection of it. There has been outrage whenever a movie (or book) depicted incest as anything but destructive. Often, it is a sign of something evil. (Cat People, Devil's Advocate, Crimson Peak)

A movie example of this is "Flowers in the Attic". The brother/sister relationship there is depicted as loving but is destroyed by the mother. The incest is a response to abuse, and not the cause of it. Controversy over that plot and author is still discussed. Game of Thrones has somewhat flipped the discussion to one of obsession and devotion.

Another genre getting this treatment is BDSM, where many movies still show it as abusive. Films that tried to show it being consensual are ridiculed, or push the narrative that the characters are broken and need to be reformed/rescued.

Well, there is rejection towards rape, humiliation, abuse, torture and such in general too. Even there is those that have fetish's in that direction.

Doing a quick search on imdb, did give a long list of incest themed movies @
Also if you looking towards the adult industry and porn movies, there is a lot of incest themed porn. Heck if you dig deep enough you can find "real incest" porn too (If you look into the German stuff, you end up with nightmares too, lol)

Oh, does it give nightmares to non-German speakers too? I thought it only gave me nightmares, because I understand what they said.
I think, as far as rape goes, it is clear that it is evil and can never be shown as something good. Incest is not that clearly evil, especially, if the people involved don't breed, as, at least theoretically it can be consensual.

You're automatically lumping incest with rape and torture?

The incest genre has to do with relationships, not consent. There is a difference. It's more related to teacher/student than kidnapper/victim. The idea is taboo and forbidden, not forced and abused.

That is the exact disconnect that automatically gives us movies that show nothing but negative, destructive, abusive depictions of the genre. Yes, there are real world horrors associated with incest, but that does not mean that is all it can ever be.

I've said before that we can do realistic without resorting to common. If 99% of incest involves abuse, then what is the 1% that is not? Which is what we're (hopefully) trying to explore in these games/movies. (There's a link to a reddit AMA in this thread involving a consensual mother/son relationship--- people don't believe him, but it looks real)

It just feels like a weak excuse to say that any incest story that doesn't involve rape/abuse can't possibly be believable.

Someone touched on this awhile back, but I think almost any believable incest plot can be achieved by creating interesting, sympathetic characters. I don't prefer incest stories/games necessarily, but I do enjoy them. With two normal adults, the only real barrier or challenge to sex is one person not wanting it (at first), so they need to be seduced. But good incest plots generally require levels of sexual curiosity, self-denial, taboo, subtle indirect seduction, and ultimately overcoming the natural barriers to a sexual relationship because the love (and lust!) is just too strong. In other words, "I shouldn't be doing this, but I just can't help it because...." If you can make the "because" believable, you have a believable incest plot.

For anyone developing an incest-themed game, I suggest reading some of the top-rated titles in the incest category at Literotica.com. "Words on Skin" for example might not be "realistic" in the sense of creating a plot where a brother and sister would have sex, but it damn sure creates a world with characters that are believable, which makes the story believable. Read a bunch of those stories to get a feel for what works and what doesn't work. Identify what highly rated erotic incest stories have in common, and then most importantly put your personal stamp on it.

A realistic incest-themed plot would almost certainly be dark and deeply psychological. But a believable incest-themed plot just needs fleshed out characters so the reader/player understands why they are so attractive, and attracted to each other, that they are willing to cross that barrier.
