I haven't seen the new update content yet, because it took so long to get this update out that I can't remember enough of the plot to just jump right into the new update.

That's where the trouble lies for me. Since Gary did a very slapshod job of excising the incest content, by only removing the lines that were tied to the variable, the whole game leading up to the new update is now full of logical inconsistencies and broken references (many many lines referencing the incest/family story were not tied to the variable and thus left in), and as a result, it's very painful to play through the whole game again.

If Gary had done a proper job of removing all the incest content and references, having to replay from the start would have actually been an advantage. The game obviously still loses much without the filial relationships that were originally there, but it would have been tolerable without all the confusing back and forth that exists now. There is a lot to love about this game, but by gutting only roughly half of the incest content, the overall writing quality seems so much lower that it's a slog to get through it now.

Gary should have either left the incest intact, and tried his luck with Patreon, while also opening a SS page to hedge his bet, or done a more thorough job removing the incest content, so that the game doesn't feel so sloppily written. Honestly, there's still so many references to the original incest content in the game, that Patreon could absolutely still ban it if they were so inclined. They've banned games for less, and even ban based on actual fan-made patches existing without the dev's consent.

tldr: The bottom line is that Gary made the worst of 3 possible choices. He could have left incest intact, or removed it thoroughly enough that it would seem it was never meant to be there. Instead, he chose to half-ass it, and left the game in a shoddy state that upset the most people possible.

Is "educated guess" now "I make some things up"? I have a sister and I would never think about having IRL incest with any of my family members. Fictional incest is hot to me on the other hand, mainly because of the taboo aspect. But I would never imagine that it would be one of my family members, even if I dont have visuals (e.g. when reading a story).

Yup, that's a part of the entire incest thing. You're doing something that's considered very wrong and taboo and you will be judged and basically be put on a list if you get discovered.

Everyone can and probably agrees that IRL incest is weird and straight up yuck as most cases are sadly connected to rape.

But Fictional incest is straight up hot idgaf. Mostly because its fictional and that nothing that happens is real and does not hurt and does not traumatize a real human being.

In my case, i really enjoy sister incest in doujin's. And that's straight up because the story, the scenario, the art is good. Not because i have some thoughts of fucking my own sisters. (not blood related btw)

But yeah got off topic there for some reason but whatever.

AFAIK it wasn't 'removed', there was a skip function added.

Basically there's a point in the story (in Episode 2 Part 2) where Gary (the dev) has a fairly neat (I'd go so far as clever) design where people 'spit bars'. They're basically a series of one-line comments on the situation, stacking up. In some of those phrases there are yellow words. After you hear(/read) it, you're presented with a minigame where you match the evidence you found with a statement, proving it false. That the host of the party wouldn't hang out with elves in private; you have a photo showing otherwise. The problem with the minigame was basically:

  1. If you got it wrong, you had to start playback all over again, and even with skip that felt like it took a long time. You didn't choose timing/pace beyond 'normal' and 'fast', and the skip/fast option could be problematic for some people. (If the game decided you clicked too early, or late, even on the right answer, it triggered the loop again.)
  2. Sometimes Ren'Py misbehaved (even without skip/fast), which made it quite literally impossible (apparently Mac users particularly suffered here). For me, even with a good system, I had to force the renderer and cap the FPS to make it recognise it properly.
  3. It felt like a lack of 'agency' (really this is point 1 again). As I think I've said a few times (and at least once here), we just needed the ability to match by cycling at our own pace (solves points 1 and 2).
On the whole, it's not a bad minigame, and Ren'Py, as an engine, just made it come out janky on some systems. With some tuning it'd actually be something I wouldn't mind seeing again, but I can see why people wouldn't want it.

My last post was deleted because, and I quote the exact reason: "use words"

It was an image of a meme.

It's a bit odd this mod apparently doesn't realize memes are used in LIEU of words. They often convey messages in a succinct and precise manor where words could never hope to compare to the same measure expression of an idea. In this case, I am obviously both showing my distaste of the removal of incest in the game, while simultaneously using humor to express my interest and enjoyment in the most popular kink/tag in all of pornographic history. This is obvious to literally everyone except the mod who deleted my post. This meme expresses these ideas to anyone with more than 2 brain cells to rub together.

So I post this meme, again, accompanied with words, so that the mod, who is seemingly the only person on the entirety of the internet incapable of understanding why memes exist, can sleep peacefully, knowing that justice has been served with the deletion of my initial post containing only this image.

Truly, the world sleeps more soundly with his or her due dilligence.

This game is something special. Almost every scene ends with either the breaking of the fourth wall or some crazy gag. I don't know who will tire first — the developer or the players — but I want to watch this marathon for as long as possible.

I just love Stella. The blush is sometimes a little excessive, but she's just too cute, and I really enjoy the growing romance between her and MC. Next up for me, I think, is Vineeta--Freda's right at the swim meet; she and MC really are soulmates. She's a looker, and I'm looking forward to lewds, but at least as much to more of their banter.
