I think it must be +95% players as male. Since there is a choice, I picked female but honestly it makes much more sense to play as a male in this kind of story. And since the LIs are shared between male and female protag, it has to be 99.99% lesbian (maybe the succubus can grow a dick later on for fem protag but I doubt it)

Played the "revised" update. Still a disappointment, the MC went from too stupid to life up to dumb as a doornail. That might be an improvement, but that is still on very low level! While the MC can now at least keep his promises, the fight was and still is utter incompetence and idiocy! ename144 once again already made a nice review.
It would not be quite as grating if this was not done to railroad the MC into sacrificing part of soul. This could have been done differently and the fight being halfway good. But as it stands currently the fight against Oruth is still depicting the MC as an idiotic fool!
In 0.9 we might see the MC breaking his finger while playing in his nose, Iondivvy depicts him as such a braindead fool.

No, the RD MC is simply depicted as dumb as a doornail, that has nothing to do with heroes in general. It is even worse if you know something about fighting. But there are people who never were in the military who know how to write better fighting scenes. This fight was nothing but a braindead suicide, saved by a deus ex machina.

There were times, maybe, if we believe old tales, when warriors had values, and didn't only think in terms of success or failure. I can't confirm it, I don't remember having been a knight in the middle ages or an ancient Indian warrior, I've only read a few things about such men.
It has nothing to do with knightly values or so, no code of honour forces you to be as stupid as the MC. No matter what age you take, this "fight" was the MC being braindead written large.

The MC is just an usual 9 to 5 desk jockey from the modern days and not some honour bound warrior which has some oaths or codex to uphold...nor the training and expirience. And i doubt they would have done something this stupid in this situation...
That whole fight was a really dumb, suicidal idea from the get to go where he had pretty much nothing to gain from.
He had a couple of lessons in swordfighting, he has no chance against one of the most dangerous guys arround and he knows that.
Completely reliant on the ''strategie'' that he can throw him, and his enemy can't defend himself against that, is just dumb...even more so if it's a swordfight and you need get into hugging distance.
Then throwing yourself into death like a lemming...it's not heroic in the last, just dumb.
He could have freed the sister without even facing the guy...or if you want him gone, remove the seal on the witch, take her along or go all together and blast his ass, problem solved.
I get that he wants to show he's reliable, but this has just proven the opposite.

Well, the MC is reliable and he is also reliably a "Vollidiot". Anyone around him must be asking themselves if it something contagious! What the MC did in this chapter was not just a bit stupid, it was Darwin Award material! Utter idiocy going into a fight he does not even had to fight to save the sister! By the way, I doubt even Lemmings are as stupid as the whole fight plan was from the get go.

Honestly, I don't mind that the MC is a little bit of a dumb ass. It seems to be endemic to VNs. It is very reminiscent of the protagonist of Price of Power accepting a challenge to a swordfight even though he had never held a sword or the MC of Superheroes Suck having Riley throw him though the windshield to stop a speeding car. If these motherfuckers never pick up the idiot ball they will never have the opportunity to tap into the hidden power within them.

Don't know superheros, but the MC from Price of Power was enhanced, body and mind, had some training before the fight and had a combat ai in him, which could have taken over at any time, there was really no danger for him. Also he pretty much needed to accept, else the consequences would have been pretty bad iirc.
But yeah, dumb MC's are way too commen, saddly.
Not saying MC's shouldn't make errors or bad decisions if they lack experience and most important learn from it. If this MC would have been forced or ambushed this would have been an entire different thing than going lemming for no real reason.

Not at the moment, though in the last update you make a choice with Valerie telling her if you are ok with sharing or not.
So probably in future updates.
