i don't really understand the struggle with the final boss , his attacks are super telegraphed and your dash is instant
E X A C T L Y .
Personally, I struggled a while and took like 15 tries or so but thats not bc he was really hard, I just kept getting impatient and too greedy with my hits which led to my losing my hp in a stupid way

The general tactic is to just hit him 2 times and dash away immediatley as he will either counter you close range or do his chop attack. Second phase with the barrel is practically the same thing, dont get greedy when he starts spinning. Outside of his spin, same 2 hit run tactic. it just took like a good 2 minutes to kill that fucker
That's it, I had about enough of this, I am going to play the game now!
I wanna see how well I fare now.
I know not everyone is at the same skill level for video games, but I swear, there's no way that I'm just so good not to notice the high bar for entry...
Well your signature does make that part more apparent.:KEK:

Ok, the controls take a little getting used to and I should probably not play this at like 3-4 in the morning.
Area 3 is giving me a run for my money.
Ain't no way am I gonna fight the boss like this!
I report back tomorrow.

Two minutes is a little less than average for a boss fight, and you can stop the spin entirely the same way you break the shields of the blue shirt bandits. But yeah, you're entirely right--the easiest way to win is to get a handle on your greed. Easier said than done sometimes, but muscle memory can be...unlearned.
I think these two points is where most of the issues with the boss comes from, I don't think I'm alone in having completely missed the tell to grab enemies out of their armor (for both the boss and the shield guys in the previous levels) and the fight being infinitely longer than any you've face before (if you've faced any at all), so people just try to rush him down, get punished by the only move that comes out in less than a week, quickly learn that the 3rd combo hit is nearly unuseable in most situation, completely giving up on it, relying on 1st and 2nd hit which do pitiful damage, makes the fight take even longer, leading to frustration and impatience
Along with the fact that h games that actually try to challenge you in any way are rare, you've got the perfect recipe for a noob trap

You aren't the only one, so that one's a bit more forgivable, but people are quick to assume that if they can't do something, it's impossible.

and the fight being infinitely longer than any you've face before (if you've faced any at all), so people just try to rush him down
While this makes sense, this bugs me. We all actively acknowledge it's a boss fight off-rip, so why is the first instinct to not treat it like a boss...?
quickly learn that the 3rd combo hit is nearly unuseable in most situation, completely giving up on it, relying on 1st and 2nd hit which do pitiful damage, makes the fight take even longer, leading to frustration and impatience
Completely understandable, but something that should be mentioned: the third hit can land reliably quite often, in fact. You have to just be aware of certain cues and keep track of how long animations may take. (Also, reminder that it can be cancelled before you leave the ground, so that makes it a lot harder to get punished for.) This is not something new players would know, so this is definitely a noob trap like you said, but it also kinda acts like that bar for entry I mentioned a little while ago. The game essentially says "if you can't learn how to play the game well enough to beat this boss, you aren't going to survive past this point.)

Too those who are wondering about character running left when the game starts there might be a fix for you in the Troubleshooting tab on page 1, please read that first.

For me however, it was something similar to the second fix mentioned in the troubleshooting.
When i plugged in a controller TWO "Compliant Game controller" drivers were visible, and the problem persisted.
After unplugging the controller ONE driver remained, Disabling that remaining driver fixed it for me.
This driver seemed to be a remaining driver for a 3d mice i use for 3d modeling.

Hope this helps some of you

It flagged the same thing for me, but its also in the BegInEx folder which is said to raise false positives. Can someone give more info?
...Please remember that the search button exists, this question has been asked way too many times at this point. It's a false positive, the game is safe. Were it not, you would see us discussing that a lot more.

I think the most difficult part is really the layout of the controls.
The L is right next to the K which some times makes me throw a Kunai/Smoke bomb when I want to dash instead.
As for the hitting greed, true that!
When I dry to dash more after 1 or 2 hits I survive more AND longer.
After that it does fall back onto skill again.
I can see why this boss could and can be a rage bait since he can also block your attacks followed by a grapple if you hit the block.
Either have determination and see this through or just resign to the fact that this type of game isn't yours.
Will still try to beat this tho as I think with enough dedication I could potentially do this.
(I mean I beat sprinkler mode in the Friedrich's Demo in another mode fairly quick and even there I though I could take this and than I did.)

Yeah, the controls do take some getting used to, and it the lack of rebinding options for now does suck, but once you've gotten the hang of them, you just have to bend the individual bits of muscle memory to form more complex forms of muscle memory, such as only clicking the attack button twice unless you know you can do more, dashing out of animations for the sake of speed, using takedowns in the air instead of on the ground for more control, etc.

!!!:PogChamp:Found out something!
If you jump and press attack you still perform an attack!
We could just air attack enemies if we think they want to turn around or use it to hit the boss without being too close.

Well as I've said I only got around playing it since yesterday so I don't know everything yet XP
Just beat the boss and I know how the barrel disarm works now.
No jumping, just press E once you stand close.
That was our problem!
We kept leaping into him when the armor flashed pink when we in fact needed to be close to him and THEN pressing E.
Now that made the barrel disarm MUCH easier!
