I think there are generally two kinds of people who enjoy this type of content. The first are those with a fetish, and the second are those with serious, unhealthy anger issues. Since creators usually put a lot of thought and emotion into their work, I genuinely hope the developer of this game falls into the first group.
It's a fucking game bro. The feds aren't gonna break down your door next time you're watching the Sopranos or some shit. People always get super weird when there's sex plus gore but when it's just gore it's fine somehow...

So what? the fact that it’s a game doesn’t invalidate anything I said. I’m talking about the intention and psychology behind the content, not about law enforcement or censorship.

You can't make any assumptions about psychology or intent. The second half of my statement addressed that more than the first half. The fact is, the only reason you're ruminating about the author's psychology is that you're projecting your circumscribed moral reasoning onto other people. Movies are played in theaters every day that are as violent and gory as this VN. They are seen by hundreds of millions of people all around the world who then go on with their lives and exist fully within the bounds of the social contract, with no latent desire to break out of it and cause harm stirring underneath.

The addition of the element of sex is the only reason you're attempting to create a unique box for this work, and that is purely the product of you being unable to have a theory of mind about other properly socialized people wanting to consume different forms of fiction than you.

You’re arguing against things I never even said. I wasn’t trying to psychoanalyze the dev of the game, and my first post makes that pretty clear. I was talking about why certain people are drawn to this kind of mix, and there’s actual research on that.

Pure violence is one thing. When you combine it with sexual stuff, it tends to attract a different kind of audience, and that’s been talked about plenty in psychology.

And no, that’s not "projection". You keep assuming motives on my side instead of sticking to what I actually wrote. If you think I’m wrong, challenge the point not some version of it you made up. Honestly, I have no idea why you keep twisting everything into something that makes zero sense.

PS: This will be my last post as it doesn't make any kind of sense to continue and I don't want to waste my energy in bullshit.

Reread your first post on the matter, and note the contradictions in the initial post compared to your responses that you twist yourself in knots to dismiss. And the hedging in the initial post does not take away from the generalizations therein.

You ascribe intent. Intent implies motive. Motive implies assertions about a state of mind. I understood perfect clearly what your first post said, and the implications in it. You construct a strongly worded, highly generalized motte, and retreat into a bailey of academic jargon. The fact is that you strongly assert two motivations for creating/consuming this kind of work, and equivocate when confronted.

It'd be better if you had the confidence to stand by your initial statement casting aspersions at people for consuming fiction and have a real conversation based on your assertions, instead you retreat to pseudo-academic psychobabble with zero citations. Instead you decided to throw stones and run away when someone throws some back. Pathetic.

You’re still arguing with a version of my point that only exists in your head. I didn’t claim to read anyone’s mind, and i never shifted my position. You just misread it from the start. Throwing around terms like "motte and bailey" doesn’t fix that, and neither do the insults. This conversation isn’t going anywhere, so I’m done.

Damn, writing with you was a complete waste of time, energy and brain cells. I’d have a clearer discussion with a freaking cow.

Just ragequit instead of clarifying your original post if you feel you were misrepresented? Sounds about right. That's usually what people do when they get called out.
