Same, somehow my save is corrupted... Can't progress with Emily, can't find the new area, ...

I don't understand. This is the 1.17 and the changelog for 1.17 is this one (not 1.18) :

v1.17

• New map area with new locations! Meet with a new beauty!

• Then the new scene "Shopping Day" will be available. There are two scenes for those who like to share and those who don't.

I don't mind waiting but Grace visited so this seems to be the right version, at least partially.

I think you misread it and your quoting v2.18 not 2.17
According this post the new area is in version 2.18 and not 2.17.
Top part of that post is about 2.18 bottom for 2.17

Is there a use for the mobile phone? I bought it but don't see any way to access it.

Is there a use for the mobile phone? I bought it but don't see any way to access it.

You need it to sell the fixed flogger for example.
But you cant use it like in other games to see quests, stats or other things.
You cant acces the phone atm it is just a tool.


Edit:
Before I forget
You sell the flogger by clicking on the fixed flogger.
But only click that once as clicking it again at any point after this caused bugs in the past and I dont know for sure if that is fixed
