If you mean the second screenshot, that’s from the old v0.2 build. Starting with 0.3, almost everything’s been redone, and none of the scenes from the first eight screenshots are in the game anymore. Honestly, not sure why 0.2 still hasn’t been taken down :/

The story doesn't make any sense, it's like it's clipped together from several different stories. Even the "cohesive" bits have the characters doing random shit that doesn't make any sense. For instance:

Pointing out the total inconsistency in the writing of the story with a profile pic of Alexandre Dumas is pretty based imo.

The game makes no sense, it's a complete mess. The relationships between the characters move so fast, you can't understand anything that's going on. You'd think it was generated with ChatGPT.

This is the premise and whatever is depicted is exactly what was promissed:
”There, in a remote place, there is a series of terrible events that turn the life of the protagonist upside down. Now he has to go through a series of trials and terrible events to uncover the mystery and understand what is happening around him. His choice will determine the fate of himself and the fate of his friends.”

The game makes perfect sense in the verb of tranger things and the phrases of resident evil, frankenstein, beauty and the beast, shreck: nobody had to go into total danger and absolute madness, yet they did for the story, plot, tension and media to be what they are today.

Death stranding and I am Legend would not exist if the protagonists were not inclined to go into ”the belly of the beast” and make mad and insane pledges to fill their time during the game and movie.

Hey everyone!

So, I’ve had some time to think about where to go next, and honestly, without overthinking it too much, starting from a clean slate feels like the best option.

I made a lot of mistakes in “Redemption” — really, a lot. Two years ago, I barely understood what a good visual novel was even supposed to look like. I was basically doing things at random, and most of it had to be redone later anyway. Still, I learned a ton during that time.

What I’m getting at is this: I want to make a visual novel that won’t need to be constantly reworked — one that’s as good as it can possibly be, from the visuals all the way down to the smallest details, like the main menu buttons.

That doesn’t mean “Redemption” is gone forever. It will continue — just not right now.

Now to the important part. Around mid-December, I made the decision to start working on a new novel and began preparing everything I’d need: props, scene assets, and so on. Right now, it’s about 70% ready, which is more than enough to properly get started. And honestly, I already have.

We’ll talk about more details another time.

As for deadlines — nothing concrete yet. But as always, I’ll move as fast as I realistically can.

So... this is it for a while, if not forever.

"Going into the belly of the beast" has to have character motivation. There is none. Zero.
