Yes, I think the way it is right now it's best to always start a new game. So it'd make sense to skip a few version unless you want to replay the same content again and again.

the new content that brings is a new scene with the cousin, which is in an optional quest in the prologue before entering the mansion, so if you want to do it you need to start again.
