The bug with the mushroom book is kinda annoying though

No. It's a clear sign that the game was released in an unfinished state. The only solution is to pick items up until the problem diminishes. The only way to fix it would be to turn off the the item glow animation, but that would require modding the game.

When I try to talk to one of the guys (either in the intro or if I skip it, the dude to my south) I get the following error message "TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'Spine')".
Even though I use Linux Ubuntu, the json of spine seems to be missing, even after a redownload
