Well, it's the new year, so we've had to hand in all of our hats for another 12 months.

no, it was the other way around.
Iirc. at the introduction of the hat they used a pfp with the head at 1/2 the size as now (and cuter facial expression), and the hat being much too large went extremely well with the cuteness of the pfp character in that picture.
