Thank you, again. This is possibly my favorite artist, and the extra frames are such a boon to the quality.

yea i dunno why you'd even bother with 8k animations, pics i get it (kinda) but let's be real, not many people have an 8k tv/monitor anyway

Recently I realize that 4k just waste of storage as I don't freaking own monitor for that thus use lots of handbreak to reduce vids down to 1080p

The point of these super high resolutions is not necessarily that everyone owns a monitor at that resolution. It's simply that, in general, a downscaled high resolution image or video looks better than a 1:1 resolution. This has been my experience, too, with content like Rescraft's; I notice the difference especially around edges. Supersampling, which is basically the same thing, has long been a staple in games.
Now, of course, there is a lot more detail to this topic (pun intended), but calling 4K a "waste of storage space" is an exaggeration. Especially when storage, nowadays, costs 1,2 cents per GB. So, unless you are actually dirt poor - which is possible - or your hardware can't run a video at higher resolutions - also possible - choosing 720p over 4K or even 1080p seems to me a choice for quantity over quality.
To be clear, I'm running a 5700 XT and a 6600K @4.6 GHz. The only issue I've had was with Rescraft's Panam_anim_30062022, which my cpu can't handle. But if I can get it, I'll take 4K 60 fps over 2K 30 fps, any day of the week.

You can have both. On a desktop screen, the difference between 4k and 1080 ain't gonna be that big. At least for the time you're watching it. It's not James Cameron people, it's just porn.
And it's not simply a matter of how much money you have. To me, 2 cents spent on porn are 2 cents wasted. On the long run, they do add up, and I'd much rather spend them on something else.

Fair enough.
It's the artist's prerogative of course, but I guess what i meant is i find it hard to see such bloated resolutions as anything else than wasted resources.

I do wonder what the actual reasoning behind it is. And if it's people asking for these resolutions (for the reasons mentioned above). Perhaps there's a bunch of really enthusiastic future proofers driving it. :WeSmart:

Perhaps. I doubt that many people are shivering with anticipation at the idea of 8k porn but we don't know, so i'll leave it at that.
More resources needed = more time between releases = people bored and getting their porn elsewhere. Rescraft is among the best atm but he's hardly the only one with that level of quality.
I admit me saying i never spend money on porn was an exaggeration, i do support artists i like occasionally (it's an investment on future porn, kinda). OTOH, spending money just for storage definitely is a waste.
I guess it all depends on each person's definition on "quality". To me, what's important is that models and animation look good, regardless of image resolution. As long as i can see clearly what's happening, i'm happy. I really don't need to be able to count each pubic hair individually.
