Now you're just casting judgments and aspersions on people who enjoy animations and it's nonsensical. Obviously people are here, not on Pornhub, for a reason. Good animations make things objectively better. They detract nothing, they simply add value. The best games have everything you mentioned, everything that makes them games, PLUS animations. When devs don't include them it's due to a lack of hardware, skills, or time. It is a funny game to play and without false pretensions, unlike many of "big" and more popular games.
If it stays this way, it fits just nicely into average quality we could see in most games.
Animations are hype of horny porn-hubers. Those who usually dont need a story, dialogues etc..., yet only need animated fuck scenes repeating over and over again. So, yep, I would say, animations are overrated definitely. If you want to watch animations better watch video/movies, you have a a lot of possibilities there, including lifeselector "games".
VN porn games should be focused on the story, players choices, fine build-up and finale/rewards/sanctions..i dont see much similarities with porn-comics there.
In my book - animations could be an useful addon to a porn game/VN (definitely better than "music"), yet by no means it is something "must have".
Nobody prefers something without animations, at best you simply don't mind their absence as much as other people might. And that's fine, good for you, to each their own. But painting everyone who likes them as "wrong" somehow is just fucking silly. That's desperation to justify and normalize what you believe, and that's not a good trait, especially when your beliefs are tainted by bias and illogic. I guess you can't see that though. So go on telling yourself whatever you must. You're hip, you're underground, you have "taste," you're superior to people that use pornhub and fans of large "overrated" projects. Sure buddy.

Most animations are flickering a few pictures for and back in unnatural or comical positions. Only just now there are a few decent ones. An additional annoyance is that often you can't stop them or skip them or roll back correctly without glitches.
So for me i pretty much hate animations. They add no value for me.

You're talking about BAD animations. Notice how I kept saying "good" animations. Bias and illogic my friend. The worst examples of animations you've ever seen do not represent the average-good ones. What if the only video game I ever played was Jackie Chan Adventures on the gba and therefore I thought all video games were like that and were terrible. Someone says "Hey bro, check out this new game called The Witcher 3 it's awesome" and I responded with "Nah video games are awful dude." Wouldn't make much sense, now would it?

Jesus Christ! It scares me that this is all it takes for some people to descend into such negativity. A dev who has consistently released free updates at a very good pace asks for 2 weeks longer and people actually get upset about it.
